Yesterday a friend sent me a song I sang years ago as a solo. It was called "Open My Eyes That I May See." I don't remember that it had much meaning when I sang it. But today, I think much differently than I did years ago.

Seeing God's hand in our everyday life is a joy. We can see God's presence everywhere when we keep our eyes open.

Hold On To Hope

When our hope is in the LORD, this hope keeps us strong and gives us courage because we know Jesus is the anchor of our souls.

Still Have Joy

We all have had some kind of suffering in our lives. That is just the way life is. But we can still have joy even amid our suffering when we have God in our life.

When we trust God and live in His presence, we can have joy and peace even when we have problems.

Rely On God

Looking back on our lives, we can see that God was taking care of us. He was always working behind the scenes. We were never alone, even when it seemed like we were.

Things happen at the right time. So we need to be patient. We need not get tired of doing good because we will reap a harvest when we don't give up.

In Its Time

I don't know about you, but I've wanted to hold on to things I needed to let go of in my life. For a time, they were the right thing to do, but there came a time I needed to say goodbye and say hello to something different.

There was a time when we were foster parents. It was a wonderful experience. For a period of time, it was the right thing for us to do, but there came a time to let go and say goodbye.

Our Bible verse says, "He has made everything beautiful in its time." Ecclesiastes 3:11. NIV

Whatever the Lord has for us to do is beautiful in its time. But, as I discovered, there may come a time when it's time to let go and move on.

Be A Reflection

What do we want to receive in life? Interestingly, we need to give first what we want to receive. If we want others to think well of us, we need to be careful how we think about others first.

This Bible verse makes it perfectly clear. Do to others as you would like them to do to you. We need to be a reflection of what we want.

I'm On My Way

Stop Empowering Fear

It's incredible what happens to our minds and physical bodies when we spend time with the LORD. I have found this to be true in my life. It is time well spent!

Years ago, a construction worker watched me walking every day and asked where I got all my energy from. I told him I spent time with the LORD, the Creator of the Universe. He was surprised at my answer, but it was the truth.

When we trust the LORD and spend time with Him, He will renew our strength.

How Close Do You Want To Be?

I have found this to be absolutely true! The more I studied the Bible, the more freedom, comfort, and healing I received. I found that this book was alive and powerful. Much more than I ever would have imagined.

Our Bible verse says, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31&32 NIV

Yes, if we hold on to the teachings of the Bible, we will know the truth, and the truth will set us free! I know that to be absolutely true!

The word of God is alive and powerful. It will set you free, comfort you, heal you and free your soul.

Hard To Say Goodbye

Greater Understanding

It's hard for most of us to understand God's love. We think God's love is based on our behavior. But God will not love us any more than how He loves us right now.

We need to ask the Lord to lead us into a greater understanding of His love. I believe the more we understand God's love for us, the more at peace we will be.

I Know You Can't, But I Can

This happened in my life. I wanted to do the work the LORD had for me to do, but I was weak. I told God all the reasons why I couldn't do certain things I believed He wanted me to do. His answer was, "I know you can't, but I can. I will work through you."

We never need to be afraid to step out and try something we believe God wants us to do. We may know our weakness, but when we also know that God uses our weakness to show His strength, we can step out.

We don't have to back down when we know we are weak in an area. This is a perfect opportunity for God to show His strength in our lives. His grace is all we need!

You Can't Give What You Don't Have

If a person doesn't even like themselves, how can they love anyone else? We can not give away something we don't have. So we need to love ourselves in a balanced way. But not be in love with ourselves. Personally, I think we should love ourselves because God loves us.

I think this is very interesting. The whole law is summed up in this one command. "Love your neighbor as yourself." It's imperative to have a respectful love for ourselves.

If you don't love yourself, it's impossible for you to love others. You can't give away what you can't have.

New Every Morning
