God's Love Heals

If you've never read the book The Shack or seen the movie, I highly recommend it. I've read the book a couple of times, and I've watched the movie twice.

We all have gone through things in our lives that have hurt us. Our life on earth has many sorrows. When we enter into a personal relationship with the LORD, we know we are loved unconditionally. When we give God our broken hearts, His love heals us.

Our Bible verse says, He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. Psalm 147:3

God will heal our broken hearts and bandage up our hurts.

Earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal.

Keep Going

As long as we keep going, it doesn't matter how slowly we go. As we go through difficult times, our strength grows.

Our Bible verse says, "Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you." Isaiah 41:10

We don't have to be afraid or discouraged when we go through difficult times. The Lord will strengthen us and help us.

Strength grows in the moments when you think you can't go on, but you keep going anyway.

Trust God

As I read this quote this morning, it dawned on me that if we keep our trust in God, all these other things will naturally come. By trusting God, we'll stay strong, have faith, keep believing, and we'll never lose hope.

Our Bible verse says, Be on guard—stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. Do everything in love. 1 Corinthians 16: 13 & 14

When we trust God, we will be on our guard, we'll stand firm in our faith, we'll be courageous and strong. Plus, by trusting God, we will do everything in love.

Hold on. Stay strong. Have faith. Trust God. Keep believing. Never lose hope.

Stand Strong

We all go through tough situations in life. I have seen that these tough times make some people bitter or better. It all depends on how they view life.

Our Bible verse says, I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13 BSB

When we believe we can do all things through Christ, who will give us the strength, we won't cower to every challenging situation we go through. We will stand strong.

Enlarge Your Vision

If we lived watching for the new thing, new doors, new breaks, and new blessings that God is doing, our vision would be enlarged.

Let's watch for the new thing God is doing. Let's prepare our minds and enlarge our vision so we won't miss the blessings He brings.

Our Inner Life

We all have an inner life and an outer life. People can see our outer life, but they can't see our inner life. Interestingly, what goes on in our inner life will reflect in our outer life.

I've been reading a book called Cross Roads by William Paul Young, the same author who wrote The Shack. This book is an eye-opener to what our inner life may look like.

Our Bible verse says, "No one will say, 'Look, here it is!' or, 'There it is!'; because the Kingdom of God is within you." Luke 17:21 GNT

I found this verse puzzling years ago. Now I can see the Kingdom of God is our inner life. If we could see our inner life as an actual place, what would it look like? Would it be full of walls we have built up, weeds of hate, anger, worry, etc.? Or would it be a beautiful garden full of love, joy, and peace?

This book has helped me to want to work with the Holy Spirit in my inner life. I want the Kingdom of God, my inner life, to be a beautiful place that will reflect in my outer life.

Open your eye, look within. Are you satisfied with the life you are living?

Vital Necessity

There are a lot of things we think we need. I wonder how many believe that a personal relationship with the Lord is a vital necessity.

Our Bible verse says, Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 AMP

When we understand that a personal relationship with the LORD is vital, we will seek Him with our whole heart.

A relationship with God is the most important relationship you can have. Embrace it every day!

Think What You Want

This may come as a surprise to some people. It did for me. I didn't know I didn't have to think every negative thought that came to my mind. I found it freeing to learn that I was in charge of my own thinking. I could fill my mind with healthy, positive, and courageous thoughts.

Our Bible verses say, "Fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me--put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8&9

When we practice thinking about things that are excellent and worthy of praise, God's peace will be with us.

Take charge of your mind and begin to fill it with healthy, positive, and courageous thoughts.

One Day at a Time

I don't know why we do it, but we often stress about the past and worry about the future. If we put the following Bible verses into practice, we would live a more carefree life.

Our Bible verses say, "Therefore, take no thought about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take thought about the things of itself. Matthew 6:34 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Matthew 6:27

We don't need to worry about tomorrow because it won't add a single hour to our life. We should do the best we can today.

One day at a time. One step at a time. Do what you can; do your best. Let God handle the rest.

Exercise Your Faith

When the word exercise is mentioned, most people don't like the word. This requires work on their part. We see people who are strong when trouble comes. They don't fall apart, and we may wonder why. Maybe they have been exercising their faith for a good while.

Our Bible verse says, "Now faith is the assurance that what we hope for will come about and the certainty that what we cannot see exists." Hebrews 11:1 ISV

Faith is now! We believe now, even though we cannot see the end result. Our faith is in the LORD, knowing He will work out everything for our best in the end. Start exercising your faith now!

Discover Your Purpose

I believe a lot of people want to know what their purpose is in this life. When I turned my life over to the Lord and diligently sought a personal relationship with Him, I started to realize my purpose in life.

Today's Bible verse got my attention right away. "For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." Ephesians 2:10 NLT

I found that God has a plan for each of our lives. He created each of us and called us His masterpiece. When we seek Him, we will discover ourselves and realize the purpose of our lives.

Seek God, and you will discover yourself. Discover yourself, and you will realize your purpose for being in this life.

Talk to God

When I saw this quote this morning, I had to post it. If this isn't true, I don't know what is. We can talk to God about anything and everything. We definitely can not talk to people like this. God knows us intimately. He loves us and wants us to live the best life possible.

Our Bible verses say, "So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most." Hebrews 4:16 NLT Never stop praying. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 GNT

We can talk boldly to God. He knows our weaknesses, and He gives us mercy. No matter what our need, He is there to help us. All during the day, no matter what's going on, we can have a dialog going with God.

Pray. God is easier to talk to than people.

Lost Vivofit

Every morning when I get up, I put my Vivofit (pedometer) on my ankle. I've done this for many years. I don't usually look at it during the day unless I change my clothes.

Yesterday, we did our usual Saturday routine, shopping then going out to eat. We had shopped at a couple of stores, walking all around. When I got home I changed my clothes and my Vivofit was not on my ankle. Yikes!

I ran out, and I looked in the SUV, and it was not on the floor. I looked in the garage and all around the house. Nope, it wasn't anywhere around here.

I changed clothes again and got in the SUV. I said a prayer, asking the Lord to help me find it. I wasn't going to stop at Kroger because I didn't think I had lost it there, but I did. I was almost sure it fell off at the restaurant.

I think Bill was surprised when I walked in the back door with the Vivofit in my hand after only being gone a few minutes. Some good person had turned my Vivofit in at the service desk in Kroger.

Today's Bible verse says, "Discover for yourself that the LORD is kind. How blessed is the person who trusts in Him!" Psalm 34:8

I did discover for myself how kind the LORD is. I prayed and trusted in Him, and He blessed me and helped me find my Vivofit.

Believing

When we trust the Lord, we can live our lives believing in hope because we know miracles happen every day. I've seen many miracles in my life, and I'm expecting more.

God will fill us with hope, joy, and peace when we believe and put our trust in Him.

Win in Calmness

To stay calm and have peace, we can tell God about everything that is bothering us and stop allowing ourselves to be anxious.

A Time for Everything

It's hard to be patient when we want something. But when we keep in mind there is a time for everything; it will help us not give up or lose faith.

There may be a perfect reason why we aren't getting what we want. There are seasons and a time for every activity. Don't lose faith.

Winter to Spring

I have a cross-stitch I made many years ago. It read, "Bloom Where You Are Planted." We all go through winter seasons in our lives. But these seasons pass, and spring comes. When it does, we can bloom where we are planted, with God's help.

Our Bible verse says, "The flowers are springing up, the season of singing birds has come, and the cooing of mourning doves fills the air." Song of Solomon 2:12

Spring is a new beginning after Winter. Our lives can also bring forth flowers, and we can bloom.

If Winter can turn into Spring, who says we can't Bloom just the same.

God Has a Major Comeback!

We can always be filled with hope for our future. Why? Because we know God has a plan for our lives. His plans are for peace and not disaster.

What Are You Anticipating?

If we would start out every day anticipating God's blessing, what a difference it would make. When I read this quote this morning, I started to have a sense of joy welling up.

Today's Bible verse says, "I am certain that I will see the LORD’s goodness in this present life." Psalm 27:13

When we are certain to see the LORD's goodness every day, we will be anticipating the blessings that each day brings.

Anticipating God's blessings is a great way to begin a new week. Look for the blessing in every situation.

Relationship

When you think about a perfect relationship, you think about the qualities you're looking for. An ideal relationship would be someone who loves you unconditionally. They know you better than anyone else but forgive and accept you anyway. You are their primary focus, and they only want the very best for you.

I found this relationship when I entered into a personal relationship with God. This relationship changed my life for the better in so many ways.

I find it odd that people shy away from this one-on-one relationship. I'm not sure why.

I believe some people think they'll have to give up something. The only things I discovered that God wanted me to give up were anger, worry, unforgiveness, and all the things that made my life miserable to begin with. Even if I decide to keep these, I am still loved.

There is so much to gain from this one-on-one relationship with God. For one, you are never alone. You know you always have someone who loves you unconditionally. You can talk to God at any time and any place. If you feel insecure, you know that He will give you whatever you need. There is absolutely nothing negative in this relationship. It's a relationship of unconditional love.

I did not always have this relationship with God. I am so thankful I do now. I highly recommend it! A one-on-one relationship with the LORD will change your life for the better in so many ways.

Thinking Clearly

If we want to think clearly, we need to keep our minds calm. When we are upset, worried, and anxious, we don't think clearly.

To keep ourselves calm and thinking clearly, let's give God all of our worries and cares. God loves and cares for us.

How Long Will You Live?

My friend Ann loved to take online quizzes that would estimate how long you would live by your healthy lifestyle. Every time she took a quiz, she would ask me to take it too. After taking several of these, she estimated we would live to be over 100.

I always laughed and told Ann I certainly wasn't eating and exercising to live a long time. I was only doing it to feel good every day.

We never know how long we are going to live. We can take quizzes, and they will estimate with the information you put in how long you will live, but that's it.

Yesterday was my friend Ann's birthday. Even though she lived a healthy lifestyle and thought she would live to be over 100, she died a few years ago.

I'm delighted Ann did live a healthy lifestyle and enjoyed every day of her life. It's important to eat healthily and exercise. Both of these help us enjoy life to the fullest, but they won't guarantee you'll live to be 100.

We don't know how long we will live. Enjoy your life now.

Follow Love

Today I heard a message on TV. What stood out to me were the words, "Follow Love." If we lined up our lives to only follow love, how our lives would change.

One Step at a Time
