My husband likes to watch TV. Me, not so much. However, when I walk into the room and say something to him, he turns the sound down on the TV. To me, this is showing love!

We show love when we give our time, attention, and concern to others. We may not realize it, but this is the greatest gift we can give.

Our Bible verse says, Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 NLT

Isn't it wonderful to know that faith, hope, and love will last forever! And the greatest of these is love!

We can give love away if we have God's love in our hearts. If we have God's love in our hearts, we can show love to even porcupine people.

When we ask God to fill us with His constant love, we can show love to everyone. Even porcupine people.

Opinions Or Approval

Boy, this is true! If we are going to be the people God created us to be, we have to be able to step out and find out. But, of course, there will be people who will not like it! I have sure experience this! But we can't allow other people's opinions or approval to stop us from carrying out God's call on our lives.

Our Bible verse says, "For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." Ephesians 2:10 NLT

Each and every one of us is a masterpiece! A masterpiece is one of a kind! We were created to do good things. God had this plan for us from the very beginning. So don't allow someone else's opinion or approval to get in your way! You don't need their approval when working on God's plan for your Life.

Goodness And Mercy

God's goodness and mercy follow us all of our lives. God is always with us no matter what we go through.

My husband and I are not alike. I'm a morning person. I get up around 5:00-5:30. When I get up, I'm really up! I get moving right away.

Today, I had my hair done, put makeup on, shoveled the driveway and sidewalk, folded laundry, cleaned, walked on the treadmill, and did my Ball and yoga workouts before 8:00. My husband, on the other hand, likes to sleep in, and he stays up late. He enjoys being busy later in the day. We live and let live! That may be why we've been married for 53 years. LOL!

We may not be able to understand other people. We may wonder why they can't be like us? But we can mind our own business and let people do what they need to do. We can live and let live.

Our Bible verse says For we live by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV.

We can live by faith and not by sight. We don't need to understand everything or everybody. We are all individuals and don't live life the same way. And that's just fine!

If we took a minute to stop and think about our lives, we would find we have so much to be thankful for. Seeing the beauty of the snow outside this morning is something a blind person could not see. I appreciate my eyesight. My list of things I'm thankful for is never-ending.

The most important thing we must be thankful for is the LORD's faithful love. The LORD is good, and His love endures forever. Now that's something we all can be grateful for.

I like this helpful tip. When we have trouble, wouldn't it be great to talk to God first before we call or text someone else?

There isn't anything wrong with talking to people about what is going on in our lives. But according to this verse, God is our refuge and strength. He is always ready to help in times of trouble. Going to God first sure is a helpful tip!

We all go through situations in life that we feel are not good. But when we get the mindset that God will work something good out of it, we are blessed through our mess.

We can look back on our life; if we choose, we can see the good God has brought out of the difficult situations we have been in.

Our Bible verse says, And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28 NLT

Do we know? This verse says, And we know! God does cause everything to work together for our good. He has a plan and a purpose for using even the wrong things for our good.

Don't You Know?

When our grandson, Eli, was around 3, he said, "Do you know where God lives?" Before I could answer, he pointed to his chest and said, "God lives in here."

A couple of weeks ago, I thought about how I care for my body. Over the years, I have been exercising and eating healthily to feel good. Then, for some reason, I thought about how God's Spirit lives in us. So now I have another good reason to want to care for myself other than to feel good.

Our Bible verse says, Don't you know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16 WEB.

Even at age 3, Eli somehow knew that God's Spirit lived in him. So, likewise, God's Spirit does live in us.

A New Diet and Exercise Program

What we feed grows. The thoughts we think will grow. They grow more significant and more prominent in our minds. We can feed our faith or feed our fears. We will receive results either way.

This is the first time I have thought of diet and exercise this way. This 'New Diet and Exercise Program' of feeding and exercising my faith will bring positive results. I'm excited about the future!

Be An Encourager

What would our world be like if we got up every day and thought about who we could encourage? Sometimes the one person we might think about encouraging is ourselves. There are many days I personally need to give myself a pep talk. After we talk positively to ourselves, then we can encourage someone else.

If we want to proclaim God's message, this says we should speak to people and give them help, encouragement, and comfort. What a wonderful way to have a great day.

When we get ourselves off our minds and make someone else happy, we feel joy.

I have read/heard this verse many times. However, today I saw something in it I never noticed. When we do the things God has for us to do, God is happy, and so are we! Even smiling at someone can give us a little feeling of joy. It doesn't take much.

The best feeling is when you're happy because you've made someone else happy.

Any Situation

When we come up to difficult situations, we can know that God will give us the strength we need to get through it. I look back on my journey and am amazed to see how God gave me the strength to go through difficult times when I felt alone.

There may be times when we feel alone, and people may not be there to help. But rest assured that the Lord will stand by our side and give us strength.

I Know I Should...But

We can read many things and gain knowledge, but we need to put it into practice to do us much good. It's important to put things into practice that can help us have a good life.

Most of us have said, I know I should, BUT! So we need to get rid of the BUT and put into practice what we know.

It's essential to study our instruction book, the Bible. After we have learned what it says, we need to put it into practice. As we do what it says, we will be living the abundant life Jesus died to give us.

I like how the amplified Bible says but first to aim at, and strive after, His way of doing and being right. How do we find His way? By studying the Bible. When we do, we are putting God first, and He will show us the way.

Today will never come again, so what should we do with it? One thing that stood out to me is if we're being a blessing, being a friend, encouraging someone, taking time to care, and watching our words, we will be getting ourselves off our minds, and we will be thinking of someone else.

We can all think of someone we can be a blessing to. So let's be a blessing today.

God Is Able

Yesterday, we went to U of M and watched Noah, our grandson, skate in a Special Hockey tournament. We never knew if Noah would ever walk, let alone skate. This morning I thought of the Bible verse, God is able to do above and beyond more than we ask or think. Ephesians 3:20.

Where there is no hope with man, there is always hope with God. Therefore, we must always have hope. When we know that God is able, even when everything seems hopeless, we can put our hope and trust in the Lord.

Our Bible verse says, Always put your hope in God. Hosea 12:6

There are times when everything may seem hopeless. But we can always put our hope in God.

God is able to bring hope into your life even when everything seems hopeless. Trust in the Lord.

Your Problems

When we have problems, there are many things we can do. We can worry and stress or let God's promises shine on the issues. I like Corrie's suggestion on what we should do.

Here's a promise. We will find new strength if we put our trust in the LORD. Our problems do not need to stress us out. We know the LORD will give us the strength we need.

Show Me

I have learned that life will be exciting if you ask God to teach you. His ways may differ from what we would think, but they work. We can read the Bible and find the best paths to take, but God will show us certain things that are only for us individually.

When Brandon started to stutter after Todd died is a perfect example. I didn't know what to do, so I prayed and asked God to show me what to do. God put in my heart to bury a dead bird. Now, if that didn't sound ridiculous, I don't know what does. But it worked, and it was the answer to my prayer. I have written about this incident in "In Loving Memory of Todd."

Our Bible verse is taken from Psalm 25. This psalm is one I claim for myself personally. It says, "Show me your ways, LORD; teach me your paths." Psalm 25:4 NIV

Over the years, I have read Psalm 25 over and over. I want the LORD to teach me and show me the best paths. He has yet to fail me.

When we put our trust in the LORD and make Him our hope and confidence, we can take life as it comes. We know the LORD will always work something good out of our unpleasant situations. Trusting the LORD will give us His peace to deal with life.
