The Gift

We have been given the most incredible gift—we don't deserve it! This gift was paid for on the cross. Jesus paid for all our sins so we could have a personal relationship with God.

This relationship enables us to live our best lives and to know that we will have eternal life in heaven when we die.

But there is one catch! We must accept this gift! We can't pay for it or earn it. It's free! By accepting it, we show that we honor what Jesus has done for us!

Our Bible verse says. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8 NIV

We have been saved through faith, which has nothing to do with our good behavior or works. It is a free gift of God! Please accept this free gift and live the life that Jesus died to give you!

When Things Look Dark

On Saturday, it looked like the story ended after Jesus died on the cross. It looked dark, but it was only the beginning. God was still there!

Good Friday was one amazing day that is for sure. Jesus died as payment for our sins so we could have eternal life and abundant life here on earth because of our relationship with Him.

Our Bible verse says, The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10 ESV

Our sins have been forgiven on the cross. Jesus paid the debt we owed. Our part is to receive His gift of love and forgiveness and live the abundant life he died to give us.

The Unexpected

Bill and I had never been on a cruise when Bill's cousin and his wife asked us to join them. I didn't know what to expect and was somewhat apprehensive. We had a wonderful time!

One day of the cruise, I joined Bill and Ed, trying out the water slides. I'm not a water slide person, but since it was close to my 74th birthday, I decided to be brave and give it a go.

Ed went down first, and then it was my turn. Bill was waiting his turn after me. I got inside the slide and started to fly down. All of a sudden, I came to a complete stop! I was not moving! It was pitch dark, and there I sat! I didn't know what to do.

I heard a guy yelling for me to push or pull, and I didn't know which one I was supposed to do. I tried to push and pull for a good five minutes, and my arms were about worn out!

Much to my amazement, I was not scared or in a panic! I remember wondering how I was going to get out. I thought someone would be sent down to push me out, or else they would pour more water inside the slide. I didn't know.

I started to pray, and suddenly, I began to fly down the slide! I am still trying to figure out what I did to make it happen. Maybe God gave me a push.

Our Bible verse says, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

I do believe God was with me even on that water slide. I wasn't afraid or discouraged because I somehow knew God was with me and would help me.

Look For The Good

On My Way

I have traveled down many roads, taken many detours, and made many wrong choices in my life. But it was a wonderful day when I discovered that Jesus was the only way to go!

Finally, understanding that Jesus paid it all for me to be in a right relationship with God and have eternal life gave me hope. My sins were forgiven. I was on my way to heaven, and I was going to enjoy the journey because of what Jesus had done for me.

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He has paid the price by dying on the cross for our sins and rising. Now, we can have a relationship with God the Father and have eternal life with Him in Heaven.

This is so true! It was eye-opening to learn that it was not my Do but my Who that was all important. Learning who I was in Christ started to change every part of my life.

When our identity is in Christ, we are made right by God. We accept what Jesus has done for us in faith. It's not our righteousness but His.

I was looking for something about being thankful, and "Love them anyway" came to my attention. Forgiving someone who has done you wrong and being able to love them anyway is something to be grateful for.

Yesterday, I was up very early in the morning. When I got on the computer, I had one popup ad after another saying, Warning! Warning! Warning! It was non-stop!

I started to pray. I did everything I knew to make these popups stop, to no avail. I sent a message to ask friends to pray. I thought that, with them praying, I would be able to figure out what to do, but I could not.

I decided to send a message to Brandon. He tried to tell me what to do, but nothing was working. Finally, Bill came in and worked on it while I was praying, sitting in my chair, trying not to be anxious.

It's not easy to not be anxious! But I can say that being able to pray and ask God for help has helped!

I'm thankful to report that everything is back to normal; the computer is even running faster.
