We want to see what lies ahead, but most of the time, we can't. We like to know how something will turn out before we step forward. It would be great if life was like that, but most of the time, it isn't.

We can walk by faith even when we can not see. Sometimes, we want to know what will happen, but we can walk by faith even when we can't see.

I Am What I Am

Every person is unique. There are no two people alike. So, there's no point in trying to be like someone else. We can be ourselves and work God's plan for each of us.

When I gave my life to the LORD, I told Him He knew what He was getting when He got me. I am what I am! I was no surprise to Him.

Our Bible verse says. But by the grace of God, I am what I am. His grace to me was not without effect, yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 1 Corinthians 15:10

By God's grace, I am what I am, and so are you! We can do some amazing things by God's grace working through us.

Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.

God Is Bigger

It's easy to focus on our problems. But it takes a lot of stress off us when we put our problems in God's hands and focus on how big God is. God is bigger than our problems. Let's keep our hope in Him.

Our Bible verse says. "But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you. Psalm 39:7 NIV

When we have problems, let's look for what the LORD is doing. Let's keep our hope in Him.

Don't tell God how big your problems are...tell your problems how big your God is.

God Will Equip You

God has a plan for our lives. Along with the plan comes the ability to do the task. God will equip us to complete the plan He has for our lives.

I can look back, and I'm sure most of you can too, and see how God equipped us to do things we never thought we could do. We know without a doubt God gave us the ability to complete the task.

I had never written anything significant when I wrote Dr. Norman V. Peale. God stepped in, and the letter was published; it went around the world and was also put into two books.

We had 11 foster children come through our home. Now you know that was God giving us the ability.

I worked in a Memory Care Center with a woman for 6 years. This situation was so far over my head I still marvel at how I ever made it through until the day she died. I could go on and on.

Our Bible verse says. God gives ability to everyone for their particular service. 1 Corinthians 12: 6 GNT

We all have a particular service in God's plan. We don't need to wonder how we will do it because we know God will give us the ability when it comes.

Whenever God calls us to a task, He will equip us and enable us to complete that task.

What's It All About?

While studying the Bible this week, I read some verses I had heard many times before. For some reason, they really stood out.

The background of the story was about a wealthy young man. This guy thought he had kept all the 10 commandments and should have eternal life. So Jesus had to set him straight. It wasn't about him. It was about God.

The disciples needed clarification because they also thought keeping the 10 Commandments would get them into heaven. So they asked, "Who then can be saved?" Matthew 19:25

Jesus looked straight at them and answered. This is impossible with man, but for God, everything is possible. Matthew 19: 26

It is all about Jesus and what He has done for us! With us, it's impossible, no matter how good we think we are. We can never be good enough. But with God, everything is possible.

What's it all about? It's all about Jesus and not us! With God, everything is possible.

Under His Wings

Looking back on my life, I can see how God provided what I needed.

I was not a Christian before Todd died, so I thought it was odd for my aunt to send me a cassette tape of Christian music. I decided to listen to it while Todd was practicing his driving to get his permit.

When Todd died, we needed some music to play at his funeral. I took this cassette tape and had two songs played. One was, Because He Lives, I Can Face Tomorrow. And the other one was Under His Wings. Neither one at the time had any meaning to me.

Now, I look back and see how God provided this music for Todd's funeral. He also helped me through this difficult time by keeping me safe under His wings. I had a calm and numbness that I believed was God's protection to support me. It took some time, but I learned I can face tomorrow because He lives.

Don't worry! God will take care of you! Just like He has me!

Through The Fog

Every one of us has been through things that we do not understand. We feel like we're in a fog, looking for answers that always seemed out of reach.

I didn't know why Todd had to die. I didn't understand why our first grandson was born with so many health problems. I could go on and on.

But like many of you, I had to come to the point of putting all of my trust in God. He could see through the fog, and I know I will see clearly one day, too.

Our Bible verse says. Now, we see things imperfectly...but then we will see everything perfectly. 1 Corinthians 13:12 NLT

Now, we do see things imperfectly, like looking through fog. But one day, when we get Home, we will see everything perfectly. Oh, happy day!

Shaken Faith

I wondered what kind of response I would receive when the local newspaper in Dover, Ohio, asked to reprint the letter "In Loving Memory of Todd." I had written to Dr. Norman V. Peale after Todd's death.

A few days after the reprinting of "In Loving Memory of Todd," an anonymous letter came from a person who had been a high-school classmate of Todd's.

When this classmate heard that Todd had been in a car accident, they prayed that "the Lord would do what was right for His kingdom." Of course, they felt the right thing would be for Todd to live.

Later, when they learned that Todd had died, they were devastated. They did not understand why God had allowed Todd to die.

Because of this, their faith in God was shaken.

Then, in the newspaper, they read the headline, "Dover Mother Finds Triumph Through Tragedy." As they read my letter, Todd's young friend realized that the Lord had answered their prayer.

This friend's letter made me do a great deal of thinking. How often have I allowed my faith to be shaken when I did not see immediate answers to my prayers?

I have learned to trust God more. I now know that God will work something good out of everything we go through.

Move Forward In The Face Of Fear

We all have been in fearful situations. But when we are, we can still have the courage to move forward and be brave with God's help.

No matter what we are going through, we can be strong and courageous because the LORD our God is with us! We can keep moving forward.

Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage means you move forward in the face of fear.

Incredible Hope

When our hope is in the LORD, this incredible hope renews our strength. It will give us what we need to make it through.

Hope is the one thing that can get us through the darkest of times.

Heaven Is Cheering You On

Our sins are like scarlet, but when we accept the LORD's free gift of grace, they are as white as snow.

Peace That Surpasses Understand

I do not understand how we can endure challenging situations and seem to have strength, wisdom, and peace. However, I have experienced it. I've wondered why I didn't fall apart, but I know it was God who was working.

Our Bible verses say. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6&7

When we are in a challenging situation, we can tell God all about it. He already knows, anyway. But we can get it off our chests, and His peace will guard our hearts and minds.

Heaven Is Our Home

I don't know about you, but I love that heaven is my home. I have lived in 5 different states and have moved many times. I enjoyed each place to a degree but never felt truly at home. I never understood why until I came to the following Bible verse.

This Bible verse says. "Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at Home with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:7

Yes, I am fully confident that when I die and leave my body, I will be at home with the Lord! My home is in heaven, just waiting for me.

Look Back and Look Beyond

Looking back and seeing what God has done in my life and through Todd's death, I am amazed! Because of this, I look forward to the future. I believe God is up to something great with the eyes of my heart.

When we use the eyes of our hearts, we can look back and beyond and see what the Lord has done and will do in our lives.

Our Bible verse says. May the eyes of your heart be enlightened so you will know the hope of His calling. Ephesians 1:18

God has a calling on our lives. And it's a great calling! We can pray that the eyes of our hearts will be enlightened so we will know this hope of His calling.

When You Can't Sleep

What do you do when you can't get to sleep or when you wake up in the middle of the night? We have all been through this situation at one time or another. I know I have.

I have found that talking to God helps. I also find that thinking of every Bible verse I can remember relaxes me, and I fall asleep.

When we lie in bed, we can always think about the LORD. We can remember all of the ways He has helped us.

What great advice! When we go through times when we feel afraid, we can put our trust in God.

Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.

Keep Intruders Out

It takes discipline and self-control to keep negative thoughts out of our minds. We can't be passive about it. We must give these intruders eviction notices that they are not welcome anymore!

Then, we can fill our minds with thoughts of faith, hope, and victory! Victory is won or lost in our minds.

2 Corinthians 10:5: Fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable, correct, pure, lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8

We can keep the intruders out by taking every thought captive! To do this, we must think thoughts that are positive, excellent, and worthy of praise! What a way to live!

How We Treat Others

We need to be careful how we treat others. Another quote I read said, "The way you treat people reflects who you are on the inside." There is some truth to that quote, too.

If put into practice, this Bible verse would change the world. It surely would change our world if we would practice it! Do to others what you would have them do to you!

Live The Life
