We have purpose! Since our hearts are still beating we are alive for a reason. We are God's masterpiece! How awesome is that! He has good things for us to do!

Enjoy What You Have

It really isn't how much we have that makes for happiness. We all know people who have a lot more than we do that are not happy. Personally I believe when we're not happy it's partly because we don't enjoy what we do have.

Live Your Dash

Stand Tall

Be Kind

We never know what another person is going through. Sometimes we need to be kind to unkind people because they need it the most.

Our Bible verse says, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Ephesians 4:32 NIV

Use Kindsight on yourself as well. See your good qualities, because we all have them.

In a world where you can be anything...Be Kind! Always keep in mind that one kind word may change someone's entire day.

Peace Of Mind

We all have something going on in our lives that can try to steal our peace of mind. We might be shocked at what some people are going through and they still maintain their peace of mind.

I'm sure today's Bible verse has helped them do their part to not let their peace be stolen. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." John 14:27 ESV

If we want to have peace in the storm our part is to let not our hearts be troubled nor let them be afraid.

When we remember that we have peace, because it's been given to us, we can do our part and calm down and keep our peace of mind. When we do, we have something that money can't buy.

What greater wealth could anyone have than peace of mind.

Bloom

I cross stitched this quote, "Bloom Where You Are Planted" years ago. I actually have it hanging on the wall as you go out the back door of our house.

It doesn't matter where we are we can bloom. We can all be kind and share a smile with someone each day.

When we let our light shine we will bloom where we are planted. When we do, others will see, and give praise to God.

The Power Of LOVE

I have seen what the power of real LOVE can do. I've seen it melt the heart of harden criminals. The Bible talks about heaping coals on a person's head. (see Romans 12:20) Those coals are LOVE.

We're told to love our enemies. Do good to those who hate us. (see Matthew 5:44) It says we overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21)

Even if we don't see any change in the other person right away, we will see what the power of LOVE can do in us.

There is no greater power in the world than LOVE! Remember LOVE never fails. (see 1 Corinthians 13)

A Better Tomorrow

The Lord has good plans for each of us that will give us a future full of hope. We can help with this plan by doing something each day that will add to our progress and give us a better tomorrow.

What I Have Learned In Life

I have learned...sometimes not helping someone is really helping them for their own good.

I have learned...that exercise is just as much of a benefit to the mind as it is to the body.
I have learned... that my pain can be my gain when I turn it over to the Lord.
I have learned...the Bible to be the most positive book I have ever studied. It has helped me develop and grow in my personal relationship with the Lord. It has shown me how to live a great life right here on earth, as I put what I have learned into practice.

What Can I Learn From This?

Everything we go through in life can be a learning experience. When things are going well or when we are going through a storm both can be learning opportunities to help us through life.

Quite honestly, I have learned that I have gained more through my pain than I have when all is calm. Maybe it's because I tend to think in stormy times, "What can I learn from this?"

When we know that God will work good out of anything we can see our storms in life as learning opportunities to gain something from our pain.

Appreciate

Don't Park

Do you want to be happy? Get yourself off of your mind and serve others by showing love. Showing love can be as simple as a smile, a hug, giving your time, or doing a service. It's not a complicated thing to serve by showing love.

Today is the final at Wimbledon. Roger Federer is playing. As it usually goes the person who serves well will win.

Make Life Beautiful

Look On The Bright Side

We can look at our lives in different ways. Everyday may not be good, but there will be something good in every day. I read that life is 10% how you make it and 90% how you take it.

Our attitude can be like a box of crayons. If we color with grey our picture will be bleak. Try adding some bright colors and add some humor and see what a difference this will make.

Our Bible verse today tells us to look on the bright side. Think on things that are excellent and praiseworthy. (See Philippians 4:8)

No one has ever lost their eyesight looking on the bright side of life. When we try adding some bight colors, humor, and think of things that are excellent and praiseworthy we will look for the good in every day.

Keep On Keepin' On

There have been many times in life we all have felt like we can't go on. When Todd died I felt like I was going through hell, but thank God I kept going.

There will be many stumbles in our journey. I like how Winston Church said, "If you're going through hell, keep going."  We need to keep on keepin' on and finish our course with joy!

Change Takes Time

I like to see quick results. However, that is not how things go in the world. We see a large tree. If we were to watch it daily we would never actually see it grow. Over time it does grow, but it's a gradual process.

Today's two Bible verses make it clear about growth. "For everything there is a season. (see Ecclesiastes 3) Also in Genesis 8 it reads, "There will be seed-time and harvest." Note... we plant (seed) we wait (time) and then (harvest.)

We are all changing and change takes time. We may not be where we want to be, but growth means change and change takes time.

Upgrade Of Joy

I believe we all want an upgrade of joy in our lives. Today I heard a message on how to upgrade our joy to improve our tomorrows taken from Matthew 5.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Matthew 5:7

What stood out to me was when we give mercy we are blessed and this increases our joy. I don't know about you, but I need to put this into practice.

The word blessed in the Amplified Bible is an awesome word. Here is the definition of the word. Blessed = spiritually prosperous, happy, to be admired, forgiven, refreshed by God’s grace, inwardly peaceful, spiritually secure, worthy of respect, joyful, nourished by God’s goodness, content, sheltered by God’s promises, anticipating God’s presence, spiritually mature, spiritually calm with life-joy in God’s favor, comforted by inner peace and God’s love, morally courageous and spiritually alive with life-joy in God’s goodness. Matthew 5 AMP.

Several times the word joy is used as the word "Blessed" is defined.

One of the ways we can increase our joy and improve our tomorrows is by showing mercy to others and ourselves as well.

Cancel It Out

How many time have we thought, "I wish I didn't think like that." Quite honestly, I hadn't thought of saying something positive to cancel the negative thought out until I read this quote today.

Sometimes to keep our peace and stay positive we need to deliberately say something that will help.

I heard a message about thinking and saying, "Do Not Disturb!" When something happens that we don't like, instead of getting upset, we can say to ourselves, "Do Not Disturb!"

We can cancel out the negative thoughts by deliberately saying something that will help. We can say, "Do not disturb" to keep our peace then deliberately say something positive to cancel out the negative thought.

What Are We Watering?

Too often we think we need to wait until everything is going our way to have a great day. That is just not true. We can choose to make it a great day no matter what we are going through.

We miss so much in our everyday lives when we don't consciously look for the little everyday surprises from God.

Several years ago I started to write down little surprises in my everyday life. I did notice when I consciously started to look how precious and special everyday became.

1 John 4:16 tells us that God is love and he loves us. Today look for Him to surprise you. Life will become precious and special as we look for the many ways God shows us His love. Don't miss out on these surprises.

Launching Pad

From personal experience I know that God can and will use our deepest pain as a launching pad to bring good out of our circumstances.

The following two Bible verses have helped me over the years with any trust issues I might have. The first is, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding." Proverbs 3:5 The second one is, "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them." Romans 8:28

When we turn our circumstances over to the Lord we can trust that He will bring good out of them. Our deepest pain can be the launching pad of our greatest calling.

Freedom To Do What Is Right

Learn To Laugh At Yourself

I think sometimes we do things that are really funny, but instead of laughing at ourselves we are critical. We say things like, "Why am I so clumsy? How dumb am I? I must be losing my mind."

Maybe we mess up at times because we are suppose to laugh more. The Bible says, "A cheerful heart is good medicine." (See Proverbs 17:22)

Life is too short to be serious all the time. We may need to learn to laugh at ourselves more. When we do life will be funnier. Plus, a cheerful heart is good medicine!

We Can't Change People

I read somewhere that no matter how nice we are 10% of people won't like us.

We're in good company because not everyone like Jesus either. People like to find fault. Jesus healed a man, which was a good thing. However, his critics said He healed the man on the wrong day. (See Matt. 12:10)

We can take the high road and smile and be nice anyway. We can turn the situation over to the Lord and He will defend us (see Jeremiah 51) and He will fight the battle for us. (see 2 Chronicles 20)

We can't change people, but we can change how we react to them.

The Smallest Act

I think this is so true. We do underestimate the power small acts of kindness may mean to another person. These small acts have the potential to turn a life around.

Our Bible verse today says to be kind and tenderhearted to other people (See Ephesians 4:32)

When we think about the potential of what a kind word could mean to another person I believe we won't underestimate the power our small acts in everyday life.
