Knowing that the LORD is with us wherever we go helps us overcome our struggles. As a result, we feel strong and courageous. The LORD helps us not to be afraid or discouraged as we move forward in life.

The Right Time

Right now, we are waiting for a new grandbaby to arrive. Noah is sure this precious baby will come at 11:00 on a Saturday. He has it all planned that we must be at his house on Friday to see him get off the bus. This is Noah's plan, but we all know God has the right time for our new grandbaby to be born.

It's hard to wait, but when we want God's best, we must learn to wait, pray and stay patient for God's timing.

Find The Good

Our quality of life may depend on what we're looking for. Some choose to look for trouble around every corner, while others prefer to look for the good. The same holds true for people who read the Bible.

The more we study and think about the word (Bible), the more we'll discover good, no matter how bad life gets. We will be blessed as we put our trust in the LORD. This has been proven true in my life.

We find whatever it is we're looking for. Look for the good.

Do You Want To Get Well?

"Do you want to get well?" This was the question I kept hearing every morning when I spent my quiet time with the Lord. I wondered why the Lord kept asking me the same question. Of course, I wanted to "get well," or did I? These last few months since my son Todd's death had been unbelievable. The pain of losing Todd was unbearable. Because of the tremendous pressure I had on my chest, there were times when I felt that if I took another breath, I would die. I now understood what the words "a broken heart" meant.

Todd's death had not been entirely in vain because I gave my life to the Lord due to his death. I just couldn't handle his death on my own. I spent time alone every morning, reading the Bible and talking to the Lord. Out of nowhere was this same question: "Do you want to get well?" Sure I wanted to be healed of this pain. But what would happen if I actually did "get well"?

I was enjoying all of the attention people were giving me. Would all of the special attention end? Would people think I didn't love Todd if I moved forward? I also asked myself, "Would sitting in my closet, in the dark, bring Todd back?" Would anything bring Todd back? These were just some of the questions I asked myself when I finally faced the "Do you want to get well?" head-on.

Since nothing would bring Todd back, I knew I had a decision to make. I could hold on to my grief and ultimately pay the consequences of that choice. Or I could "get well" and allow the Lord to work through me to bring more positive things out of Todd's death. I finally made the decision to "get well." My choice was to trust the Lord to help me, let go of my grief, keep my good memories of Todd, and allow Him to work through me to bring even more positive things out of Todd's death.

In John Chapter 5 in the Bible, I read a story about a man who had been sick for 38 years. Jesus saw him and asked, "Do you want to get well?" The man gave Jesus several excuses, just like I did. Finally, Jesus said to him, "Get Up! Pick up your mat and walk." The man made a choice to "get well" and move on.

Sometimes it's hard to ask yourself the tough questions. It's hard to face the fact that you might not want to "get well" for many different reasons. The decision was mine to make. Like the man at the pool, I chose to"pick up my mat" and move on. I believe we both made a wise choice, don't you?

Find Out For Yourself

It's amazing how life changes when you have seen for yourself how God is working. Then, no matter what happens, you can smile because you know God is good and He is working.

We need to find out for ourselves how good the LORD is. Then, once we do, no matter what we go through, we will take our safety in Him.

What Not Why

This is what I did after Todd died. For some reason, I didn't ask why. Instead, I asked what am I suppose to do now. When we face trouble in life, and we all do, we can trust God to show us what to learn and what He wants us to do.

Our Bible verses say, Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3: 5&6 NLT

The best way to live is to trust the LORD with all of our hearts. But, of course, we can't depend on what we think we may know. We don't see the big picture. But, we can seek His will, and He will show us the best path to take.

Number One Focus

There's a difference between knowing about God and knowing God. With religion, you learn about God, but knowing God is not about religion; it's about becoming more intimately acquainted with Him in every area of your life.

If knowing God is our determined purpose, we will have a deep intimate relationship with Him. What a way to live!

Make your relationship with God your number one focus. Know that if you take care of that, God will take care of everything else.

Execution Is Essential

If we genuinely want to follow God's pathway in our lives, we must be willing to move our feet. We can't sit around idle and live in wishful thinking. I wish this, or I want to do that. We need to move our feet.

The LORD says He will guide us along the best pathway for our lives. We can rest assured that He will advise and watch over us along the way.

Try Not To Confuse The Two

I like this quote! Sometimes we confuse the terrible things that happen in our life as God's fault.

I am thankful after Todd died, I could see the difference. I started to see that God was good and He could bring something positive out of Todd's death. I began to trust Him to give me the strength to move forward in life no matter how hard life was.

Our Bible verse for today. God is the only one who can make the valley of trouble a door of hope. Hosea 2:15

Yes, I know God can make whatever trouble we are going through a door of hope. He did it for me, and He can do it for you.

Life is hard, but God is good. Try not to confuse the two.

Who Cares? God Cares!

Every morning, before I put anything on the computer, I ask God for His help! I have no idea what to write or what Bible verse to use, but when I ask for help, something will stick out, and that is what I post.

The LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth, cares about us. He is our help in everything we need.

When we think about gifts, we usually think about material things. But the best gifts are not material. Instead, giving our time, attention, love, and concern are gifts that mean the most in life.

I Do It Myself

Our Plans

It isn't easy sometimes to trust God with our plan. We want to trust Him, but He may take us in a different direction than we had planned. Why another direction? One reason is that God's plans are usually much more significant than ours. We must understand that His timing isn't always our timing either, and His ways are higher than ours.
