Step Into Freedom

by Kay Heitsch

If you let go a little, you'll have a little happiness. If you let go completely, you will be free. Let go and give it to God. ~ Let Go and Be Free Quotes ~
Our strength is drained when we carry around our hurts and emotional pains. When we let go of a few things, we'll experience some happiness. But when we can let go completely, we will step into freedom.
Our Bible verse says, "Our LORD, we belong to You. We tell you what worries us, and You won't let us fall." Psalm 55:22 CEV
When we know we belong to the LORD, we know we can give Him all of our worries and hurts. When we do, the LORD will not let us fall, and we can be free.
If you let go a little, you'll have a little happiness. If you let go completely, you will be free. So let go and give it to God.

Mysterious Ways

by Kay Heitsch

God works in mysterious ways. We don't understand everything that happens, but we can be sure God will care for us. ~ Quotes ~
When we turn things over to God, He will work it out for our good. I totally believe this! It's happened to me over and over. No matter what has happened in my life, I always think, God, I know You can work good out of this. So then, I look for it!
"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28 WEB
Yes, we know that God does care for each of us. He will work His plan out using whatever happens in our lives for good.
God works in mysterious ways. We don't understand everything that happens, but we can be sure God will care for us.

Hant It All Over

by Kay Heitsch

When we put our cares in His hands, He puts His peace in our hearts. ~ Cast Your Care Quotes ~
It's a freeing feeling to hand all your worries and cares to the LORD. When we do, God puts His peace in our hearts.
Our Bible verse says, "Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you." 1 Peter 5:7 NLT
God wants us to give Him all of our worries and cares. God wants us to hand it all over! Then, we can hand our past, present, and future over to Him, too, knowing that He cares for us.
When we put our cares in His hands, He puts His peace in our hearts.

The Stories

by Kay Heitsch

Last summer, our grandsons Noah and Eli came for a visit. Eli was sleeping in the spare bedroom, where I had a clear plastic container that I kept the stories, etc., I'd written in. Eli wanted to know what all these papers were. So I told him they were stories about what God has done in my life. I said I had written them for Noah and him to read one day. I also said he might want to make a book out of them.
The main reason I wrote these stories out is because of a Bible verse I read. At the time, we didn't have any grandchildren, so this verse seemed to be speaking directly to me. So here's the Bible verse. "Write down for the coming generation what the LORD has done so that people not yet born will praise Him." Psalm 102: 18 GNT
I was sharing this verse with a friend before Noah and Eli were born. Lisa reminded me that the coming generation meant more than just my grandchildren, and I should share these stories with everyone.
I believe this verse is for all of us. We all have stories of what the LORD has done. I think it's essential to write down our stories so people not yet born will praise the LORD.

Tell What God Has Done

by Kay Heitsch

Let's tell the stories of what God has done for us. ~ Tell Your Stories What God Has Done Quotes ~
When good things happen in our lives, many people call them karma or good luck. But for me, I don't see these things that way. Instead, I see all the good things as coming from God.
Our Bible verse says, "Praise the LORD and pray in His name! Tell everyone what He has done." 1 Chronicles 16:8 CEV
When we have good things happen in our lives, let's praise the LORD and tell everyone what He has done.
Let's tell the stories of what God has done for us.

Unexpected Blessing

by Kay Heitsch

Yesterday it was pouring rain when Blessing Plumbing and Heating came out to do their rescheduled maintenance on our furnace and hot water heater. I say rescheduled maintenance because they were supposed to come last month.
The technician needed to put the hose in the sump pump to drain the hot water heater. But, as he took the lid off, he noticed the water was up to the top! So he giggled the plug and tried a couple of other things, but the sump pump had just stopped working. Ryan* checked his records and let us know that our warranty was still in effect. He replaced our sump pump at no charge to us.
Think about this! What are the odds of this happening as it did? This appointment was a rescheduled service date. Had Blessing come last month, the sump pump would have been working fine.
I used this quote and Bible verse today, "Sometimes blessings come when you never expect them to come. ~Blessing Quotes ~ "Find out for yourself how good the LORD is. Happy are those who trust in Him." Psalm 34:8
I am thanking the LORD for his unexpected blessing, and I found out for myself how good the LORD is. I am happy I put my trust in Him.

Keep The Brain Cool

by Kay Heitsch

Years ago, when I first read Dr. Peale's books, I was amazed at how he presented the Bible. He showed how the Bible was an instruction book on having a great life right here on earth. He also showed how medical science and the Bible worked together.
I found it fascinating to learn that when we stay calm, our brains work more efficiently. When we are upset and stressed, our brains get hot. When they do, we will not think as well.
It's no wonder why the Bible talks so much about not worrying and living in fear. There are many verses about staying calm and having God's peace on the inside. These verses help keep us quiet and our brains functioning at maximum levels.
There is so much going on in our world today that can keep us upset and our brains hot. Many studies show how stress has adverse effects on our health.
To keep our brains cool and working at their best, Dr. Peale suggested finding as many Bible verses as possible on peace and not living in worry and fear and highlighting them.
So when I read about highlighting these verses, I bought a paperback Bible and some colored pencils and highlighted as many verses that I read that talked about worry, fear, and peace. I personally found great peace by highlighting these verses. I highly recommend doing it. It's also a great way to keep the brain cool!

Steadfastness

by Kay Heitsch

God's peace is not the calm after the storm. It's the steadfastness during it. ~ Live In God's Peace Quotes ~
To have God's peace on the inside when all hell is breaking loose is the best way to live. There is nothing better than to stay steadfast during the storms of life.
Our Bible verse says, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27
We have God's peace. Now we have a role to play to live in it. Our part is to not let our hearts be troubled nor to let them be afraid.
God's peace is not the calm after the storm. It's the steadfastness during it.

Miracles Do Happen

 by Kay Heitsch

Many years ago, I had a miracle happen in my life.
Our son, Todd, had died in a car accident. As a result, we were all suffering in our family, especially our almost 3-year-old son Brandon. Todd and Brandon had a special relationship. Practically every night, Brandon would get out of his bed, go down the stairs, and get in bed with Todd. Then, in the morning, they would get up together, and Todd would make them breakfast.
When Todd didn't come home after leaving that Saturday morning, Brandon didn't understand. So when Brandon went down to get in bed with Todd, he wasn't there. So again, Brandon was confused, and as the days went by, Brandon began to stutter.
During the day, Brandon would call to me that Todd was on the phone and wanted to talk to me. I can't tell you how heartbreaking this was to me. I did not know what to do! I started to pray about this situation, but Brandon's stuttering continued.
One day as we were walking in our neighborhood, Brandon noticed a dead bird on the side of the road. Then, to my shock and amazement, Brandon stutter, "Thaaat birrrd is dddead jjjust like Ttttodd." Tears came to my eyes and Brandon's words broke my heart. But I knew he was right.
I kept praying that God would heal Brandon from his stuttering. Then, for some odd reason, I started to think I should bury this bird. I did not like the idea and continued to pray. But for some reason, I couldn't get this thought out of my mind. I even woke up at night thinking about it.
I couldn't see why I should bury this bird, but I decided to do it so I would quit thinking about it. I got a pail and shovel out of the garage before Brandon, and I took our walk. I scooped the bird up in the shovel and put it in the bucket. Together Brandon and I walked to the back of our yard, and I dug a hole. With tears running down my face, I told Brandon he was right; this little bird was dead, just like Todd. I had Brandon shake the bucket and call to the bird. Of course, the bird never moved. So I told him one day Jesus was going to call with a loud voice and this bird and Todd would come alive. I told Brandon he would see Todd again.
The next morning when Brandon woke up he was not stuttering, and he never stuttered again.
Do I believe in miracles? You better believe I do!

Never Stop Believing

by Kay Heitsch

Never stop believing because miracles happen every day. ~ Never Stop Believing Quotes
When we are looking for a miracle, it's essential to never stop believing. We don't know how it will happen, but we put our faith out that it will.
Our Bible verse says, "Love never gives up; it never stops believing, and its faith, hope, and patience never fail." 1 Corinthians 13:7
When we are filled with God's love, we won't give up. We will never stop believing; our faith, hope, and patience will never fail. What a way to live!
Never stop believing because miracles happen every day.

Energize Yourself

by Kay Heitsch

Our fatigue is often caused not by work but by worry. So the best way to encourage yourself is to cheer someone else up. ~Quotes
Worrying can wear a person out! One of the best ways to energize ourselves is to stop worrying and cheer someone else up. When we do, we encourage ourselves as well.
Our Bible verse says, "Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up." Proverbs 12:25 NLT
Worry does weigh us down! But it's incredible how an encouraging word can cheer us up. So let's encourage ourselves by cheering someone else up.

Strong Inside

by Kay Heitsch

If you're strong enough on the inside, you can handle anything that comes at you from the outside. ~ Strong Inside Quotes ~
We are all going to go through difficult times. That's the way life is. But if we are strong inside, we can handle anything that comes from the outside.
Our Bible verse says, "I ask God from the wealth of His glory to give you power through His Spirit to be strong in your inner selves." Ephesians 3:16
We live in a fallen world; bad things happen. However, we can ask God to give us power through His Spirit to be strong in our inner selves.
If you're strong enough on the inside, you can handle anything that comes at you from the outside.

Tell Them I Love Them

by Kay Heitsch

Many years ago, I asked the LORD what He wanted me to tell people. I didn't hear an audible voice, but a thought came immediately to my mind. "Tell them I love them."
So today, I'm here to tell you, God loves you!
It is interesting when we know we are loved unconditionally by God how our outlook changes. We start to see things differently. We want to know Him better, and we understand He only wants the very best for us.
This Bible verse says, " I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness." Jeremiah 31:3 NIV
This is what happened to me. Once I understood God loved me unconditionally, I was drawn to Him because of His unfailing kindness. After that, I started to see life differently than I did before.
So today and every day, know that God loves you!

When we know we are loved by God, we can rest. We know He only wants the best for us. We know He is faithful, and we can put all of our hope in Him.
Our Bible verse says, "May your faithful love rest on us, LORD, for we put our hope in You." Psalm 33:22 CSB
When we know the LORD's faithful love is resting on us, we put our hope in Him.

Desire To Learn

by Kay Heitsch

Develop a passion for learning from the LORD. If you do, you will never cease to grow. ~ Quotes ~
When I first bought a Bible, I wasn't sure what I would learn. Of course, I had a plan at first, but it wasn't long before I was eager to learn whatever the LORD was teaching me.
I came across this Bible verse one day. "Every morning, He makes me eager to hear what He is going to teach me." Isaiah 50:4 TEV
We can develop to the point that we are eager to hear what He is going to teach us every morning. We can learn how to live the abundant life that Jesus died to give us and grow closer to the LORD by doing it.
Develop a passion for learning from the LORD. If you do, you will never cease to grow.

Remember The Miracles

by Kay Heitsch

If we remember the miracles God has done in our past, we wouldn't so quickly worry and fear when facing new challenges.
How true this is. When I start to feel worried and afraid, I purposely think back on how God has taken care of me in the past. Remembering what God has done in the past helps us trust Him with the new challenges we face.
Our Bible verse says, "Our LORD, I will remember the things You have done, Your miracles of long ago." Psalm 77:11 CSV
Our LORD has done many miracles in our lives and the lives of others. Remembering these miracles helps us face each day, knowing God can and does miracles every day.

Help Is On The Way

by Kay Heitsch

Never give up praying. God often answers in unexpected ways. ~ Never Give Up Praying Quotes ~
It's easy to give up when we don't see the answers to our prayers right away. But, when we know God hears us, we can thank Him that He began working on our situation precisely when we prayed.
Our Bible verse says, "Never give up praying. And when you pray, keep alert and be thankful." Colossians 4:2 CEV
Never give up praying. Help is on the way! We need to keep alert and say prayers with thanksgiving. I like to pray like this once I've asked the LORD for what I need. "Thank You, LORD, for working on ..." When I pray like this, I don't feel discouraged. I know help is on the way.
Never give up praying. God often answers in unexpected ways.

What If?

by Kay Heitsch

When one of your children dies instantly in a car accident, many fears and worries go through your mind. I remember well the feeling of not wanting my other two children out of my sight.
Right away, I wondered how I would deal with the idea of Shannon and Brandon wanting to drive. The words "What if?" would come to my mind.
Once I turned my life over to the LORD, these worries became less and less. I started to remember how the LORD saw me through Todd's untimely death. I saw how good things came out of this horrible life experience. Deep within my spirit, I knew I could trust the LORD to take care of me no matter what life brought.
Both Shannon and Brandon got their driver's licenses. I'm so happy I turned my worries and fears over to the LORD and didn't put them on my children.
There are a lot of "What if's?" in life. Like the Bible says, "They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them." Psalm 112:7 NLT
Keeping our focus on the LORD, knowing He cares for us, will free us from the worry of the "What If's" in life.
