As most of you know I go to Planet Fitness. People from all walks of life workout there. It amazes me to watch people in wheel chairs, walkers, or people who can hardly walk come in and workout to the best of their ability. I hope they are proud of themselves with each step they take.

I hope we don't wait until they reach our goals to be proud of ourselves. We can and we should be proud of every step we take.

Smiles and Silence

Smiles and Silence are two powerful tools. A smile is a symbol of friendship and peace. Silence is a way to avoid many problems.

Smiles and silence are tools we can use in our everyday life. I smile a lot and I know when I do it helps people feel comfortable and it's also a way to show friendship and peace.

I've heard that being right is highly overrated. We can avoid many problems by keeping our opinions to ourselves and keeping silent.

The Bible even tells us, "Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels." 2 Timothy 2:23 NLT It also says, "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." Romans 12:18

Smiles and Silence are for sure two powerful tools. Our world would be a more peaceful place if we used these two tools more.

What's Planted In Your Garden?

Today's quote referred to our mind as a garden. The thoughts we think are the seeds. To have a garden filled with flowers we need to think good things. Or we can grow weeds. The choice is ours.

The Bible makes it clear we will harvest what we plant. "Don't be misled--you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant." Galatians 6:7 NLT

Gifts We Take For Granted

I opened two gifts this morning. They were my eyes. The things we take for granted someone else is praying for.

I think we all take many gifts for granted. There are many people who are praying for better eye sight. I know several myself.

Today would be a great day to be thankful for the gifts we have. We need to remember that the things we take for granted someone else is praying for.

Living A Balanced Life

How interesting that living a balanced life was under "Wisdom Quotes." It sure does take wisdom to live a balanced life.

The Amplified Bible says, "be well balanced and self disciplined, be alert and cautious at all times." (see 1 Peter 5:8 AMP)

When we are off balanced we can get in a ditch on either side. We can either do too much or nothing at all. I've been guilty of both.

When we live a balanced life we can be kind, but not a doormat. We can be trusting, but value boundaries. We can also be content, but be open to growing.

Do You Trust Me?

When my life has gotten hard and I don't understand I've had these words run through my mind, "Do you trust Me?" I've had to make a choice not to go by my feelings, but to have faith and unconditional trust in God even when I didn't understand.

We have this Bible verse on a plaque in the office. "Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding." Proverbs 3:5

I like to remind myself that I don't need to understand everything that is happening in my life. I can stay happy when I choose to have unconditional trust in God even when life doesn't seem to be making sense. Do you trust Me? Yes Lord, I do trust You!

Happy Rainy Day!

It's a rainy day today. I like rainy days. I like to hear the rain falling, I like the smell of the rain too. I know that the Spring rain will help the grass to be green once again.

Our lives have rainy days as well. It's in the storms of life that we can think about the positives that can come out of the rainy days.

So HAPPY Rainy Day! We can SMILE and make our own SUNSHINE when we know that all things work together for good even on rainy days.

What Are We Planting?

Words are like seeds. They have creative power. What kind of seeds are we planting?

Now that's a good question! What kind of seeds are we planting when we talk to ourselves as well as others? In the book of Isaiah it says we will eat the fruit of our words. Are we planting seeds of love and kindness?

It's important to think about our words and how much power they actually have. I like to remind myself that words created the Universe. And God said.... Think about that!

Use loving words that build yourself and others up. Remember our words are like seeds. They have creative power.

Living Proof

When I read today's quote I thought, "WOW!" I had never thought of myself as "living proof" that God is love. What an awesome way to live!

The Bible makes it clear how we are suppose to live. "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13: 34&35 NIV

I can see after reading these two verses that the words. "By this" means, by our love for others. We can be living proof of God's love by the way we treat people.

What a difference we could all make in our world if we would act in such a manner that we would be living proof of a loving God. WOW!

Only One Decision Away

When I read this awhile back it had a profound impact in my thinking. How true this is!

I'm sure we can think of plenty of negative things others, as well as ourselves, have done that are sorry for making that one decision. But there are many positive decisions we've made that have forever changed our lives too.

The Bible says to "Choose Life" (see Deuteronomy 39:19) When we have to make a decision it may be well to remember, "We are always only one decision away from a totally different life."

Mind Over Matter

Since today is my birthday I went over to check out some birthday quotes. I am always forgetting my age! Bill is the same age as I am. When someone asked his age I almost always have a look of disbelief! I've even argued with him about it.

I'm a firm believer of living your life and forgetting your age. Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.

Every New Beginning

Learning To Appreciate

I don't know about you, but I take many things for granted. When the power goes off I find myself walking into a room and flipping on the light switch without even thinking. Boy, when the power returns I am very happy and I really appreciate it!

I'm Still Learning

It's funny how we can go through life and learn something new that many people already knew, but we didn't.

I was well into my 40's when I learned what was behind the 3 leaf clover and St. Patrick. I guess I always thought of St Patrick's Day as a day to get drunk on green beer and eat corn beef.

Finding out that the 3 leaf clover was a tool St Patrick used to teach about the Holy Trinity was an eye opener to me. What an awesome way to explain the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. One leaf with 3 different parts. I love it!

I'm still learning and I hope you are too.

Don't Compare Yourself To Others

So many times we see someone who can do something better than we can and we start to compare ourselves to them. It might amaze us to know that there may be people who compare themselves to us too.

Focus On What's NOT Wrong

Why is it that we seem to focus on what's wrong, instead of all that is right in our life and in the world?

I was asked last night how I was doing. Instead of thinking about all that is right I thought about something that has been an issue. This health problem was only a tiny part of my life. But when I was asked how I was doing, I immediately thought of it.

Maybe no one else needs this today, but I truly want to focus on what's NOT wrong. I want to focus on all that is RIGHT in my life. I am blessed!

A Little Extra

I tried to teach our children to do more than people expect. I know it's paid off in more ways than one.

Let's make this world a better place by being extraordinary instead of ordinary. Let's go the extra mile. It will be to our benefit too as we will reap what we sow.

If we look for the good in each day it's more than likely we will find it.

Take Your Medicine

Did you know that our youth hormone increases 87% and we boost our immune system when we laugh?

There is a lot of stress and trouble in our world, but the Bible gives us a way that we can deal with the trouble and stress. It says to be of good cheer. "In the world you'll have trouble. But be of GOOD CHEER! I have overcome the world." John 16:33.

There is healing power in a joyful heart. So let's take our medicine everyday!

Be A Carrier

I really liked today's quote. I hadn't thought that a healthy attitude is contagious and that we could be a carrier before. How cool is this!

I know if I smile at someone most times they will in turn smile back. I suppose a smile is the first step in being a carrier of a healthy attitude.

I believe our world would be a healthier place if we all were carriers of a healthy attitude.

Pick Your Pain

But there is also the pain of regret. Now that's real pain too. We know we should or not do something. Then we choose to do or not do it anyway. Now we have the pain of regret.

Lord, Help Me To Do This Right

We all go through situations in life that are difficult. What's cool is that we don't need to go through them alone. We can pray, "Lord, help me to do this right."

If we do it right, we can come out with a testimony. There are times when we don't do it right then all we come out with are the moanies.  😊

Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same. "But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumph..." Corinthians 2:14 when we pray, "Lord, help me to do this right!"

I went over to "Get Your Hopes Up Quotes" today. Guess what? Most of the quotes said, "Don't get your hopes up!" How sad!

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." Romans 15:13

God wants us to live in an atmosphere of hope. We won't accomplish anything if we don't have hope that we can.

Today is a great day to get your hopes up!
