I don't know how many people think of prayer and the word of God as weapons. I know I didn't until I started to apply both to my life. Now I see how prayer and the Bible have helped me fight against stress.

Our Bible verse says, "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7 NIV

Many people are filled with anxiety today. I hear about people having panic attacks regularly. Yet, as believers, we can cast all our anxiety on Him because we know He cares for us.

We have weapons, and we need to use them.

Unaware

For some reason, I woke up thinking about all of the times God protected me when I was unaware of it.

Of course, there were times when I thought back, and I could see His Divine delays, bringing the right person at the perfect time, etc. But what about the times I was unaware I was even in trouble? I am sure there are many!

Today's Bible verse says, Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good. His love endures forever. Psalm 136:1 NIV

We should give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! He has been with us throughout our journey, even when we were unaware.

God Will

God will give us strength, wisdom, and peace when we ask. He will provide us with whatever we need to live an abundant life.

Our Bible verse says, God, give strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Isaiah 40:29.

We all get weary and need God's strength and power on our journey. Knowing God will supply all we need when we ask is wonderful.

God will give you strength for every battle, wisdom for every decision, and peace that passes understanding.

What would our lives be like if we prayed to grow in wisdom and love each day?

I love Paul's prayers in the Bible. They are found in Ephesians, Thessalonians, and Philippians.

Today's Bible verse is one of Paul's prayers. "And this is my prayer that your love will keep on growing more and more with full knowledge and insight." Philippians 1:9 ISV

I pray that our love will keep growing more and more with full knowledge and insight. Wow, what a way to pray!

Our purpose in life is to grow in wisdom and love.

One Of The Best Decisions

Years ago, I was a chief worrier. Then, I started to attend a church where they talked about giving something up for Lent. This was new to me, and I gave it a lot of thought.

I had been studying the Bible, so I saw how worrying was a waste of time and added nothing to your life. So I decided to give up worrying for Lent.

I was addicted to worry, so whenever a worry thought came to my mind, I would say, "Lord, I'm handing this worry over to You. Thank You for taking care of it!" I did this all through Lent. The result was fantastic! Even after Lent was over, I worried a lot less. Honestly, this was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Our Bible verse says, Can any one of you add a single hour to your life by worrying? Matthew 6:27

Worrying can not even add a single hour to our life. It's a total waste of time.

Worry ends when faith begins.

Trust

It is a relief to say, "I trust in the Lord!" This takes a lot of stress and pressure off of us when we do.

Our Bible verse says, Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

When we put this verse into practice, it will help us to live our best life. We don't need to depend on our own understanding.

I trust in the Lord! How about you?

Meditate

When your thoughts are so loud, they forget to use their inside voice, choose to meditate on God's word. ~Meditate On God's Peace Quotes ~

I looked up the word meditate. It said, "To think deeply or carefully about (something)." So what do we meditate on? Do we meditate on the loud negative thoughts inside of our heads? If we want peace, we can choose to meditate on God's word.

Today's Bible verse is a great one to meditate on. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid." John 14:27 NIV

When we meditate on God's peace and roll this type of verse over and over in our minds, it will help us quiet the upsetting thoughts in our heads. I feel peaceful and calm when I practice this type of meditation. We can breathe in peace and breathe out fear.

I Don't Live There Anymore

We all have things in our past we may have judged ourselves about. However, to move forward, we must say, "I don't live there anymore!" So, if a negative thought or someone else brings up your past, say, "I don't live there anymore!"

We can't reach for anything new if our hands are full of yesterday's junk, like regret, fear, anger, fear, and shame.

Our Bible verse says I focus on one thing. Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. Philippians 3:13

To live our best life, we must leave the negative past behind and look forward to God's excellent plan.

I Am What I Am

It's easy to be critical of ourselves. We see where we would like to be. So many times, we're harder on ourselves than we are on other people. But when we look back, we see we have come a long way, by the grace of God, to where we used to be.

Our Bible verse says, By the grace of God, I am what I am.

1 Corinthians 15:10

It's all about God's grace! God changes us gradually when we live in a relationship with Him. I am what I am! I can't take credit for the positive changes because it's all by the grace of God.

I'm not where I need to be but thank God I'm not where I used to be.

Enjoy Each Day

Today is my birthday. I woke up with this verse in my mind. Today is the day the LORD has made. I plan to rejoice and be glad in it! I hope you will too.

God Will Supply

Looking back on my journey, I can see how God has always provided. He provided things I didn't even know existed.

Years ago, I typed inspirational things on an old Smith Corona typewriter. Then, I would give them to people individually.

When we bought a computer, I joined Hotmail and sent friends "Let the SON Shine!" inspirations.

I knew nothing about FB, but our niece was an exchange student in France, and I got on FB to stay in touch with her. From being on FB, I started to share inspirational quotes, etc.

Next, Brandon set me up on a blog to store my stories. I thought I was only using the blog for storage. But before I knew it, people from all over the world were reading them. Brandon then gave me a Grammarly subscription, which has been a big help!

Our Bible verse says, And my God will supply your every need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

What I wrote about today is only a small example of how God has provided my every need to help me do the work He has for me to do. When I started, I did not know that FB or blogs existed. So I can see that God's way of supplying was definitely different than what I had in mind.

God will always provide. It might look different than what we had in mind.

Quality Of Life

There are a lot of people who have nice clothes, cool cars, and beautiful homes. But their quality of life suffers if they don't have peace and joy.

When we have a relationship with God, He fills us with His joy and peace as we put our trust in Him. What a way to have a high quality of life!

Choose Happiness

Too often, we carry around things from our past that hurt us. But, unfortunately, we lived through it in the past, and that can't be changed. So, to move on, we must forgive, let go and be free.

If we want to choose happiness, we must stop dwelling on things or people who hurt us. We can stop the thought immediately when things or people who have hurt us come to mind. It may take some effort, but it's worth it.

You choose happiness when you let go of unfortunate past events and stop dwelling on hurts, fears, and worries.

Everywhere You Hurt

When we think of healing, we may think of physical healing. But God's kind of healing comes in many different ways. For example, He heals our emotions, broken hearts, relationships, and attitudes so we can have the best life possible. Our part is to turn our hurts over to Him.

God wants the best for His people. He wants health, healing, abundant peace, and security. What more could we ask? So let's turn our hurts over to Him.

Fearlessly

At times we all need this reminder to live fearlessly every day. We don't need to fear what others think, do, or say. We can live our lives free of fear.

Our Bible verse says, "The Lord is my light and my Saviour; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the defender of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1 BST

We can live fearlessly with the Lord as our light, defender, and Saviour. We do not need to live in fear or be afraid of anyone. We can live fearlessly!

Be A Blessing

Look For It

When we look for something good every day, this helps us to keep a good attitude and to be joyful. The Bible contains many verses telling us how vital being joyful is to our well-being.

This verse only says to be joyful always. But other verses tell us why. Like being joyful is good for our health. Proverbs 17:22 Others say being joyful gives us strength. Nehemiah 8:10. The list goes on.

Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day.

Let Faith Be Your Compass

What a difference life is when we let faith, not fear be our compass. Fear will try to control us if we let it. But when we know the Lord is always with us, we can let faith be our compass. When we have faith, we also have peace.

I love this! When fear comes knocking, we can answer it in faith. We can be strong and not be afraid or discouraged because we know the LORD our God is with us wherever we go.

A Big Difference

Someone said the first thing people notice about others is their attitude. I thought that was interesting.

Being negative only makes a difficult journey more difficult. Why not keep calm and keep a positive attitude.

Our Bible verse says, May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had. Romans 15:5 NIV

God gives us endurance and encouragement. Let's pray to have this same attitude toward each other.

A positive attitude may be a little thing that will make a big difference.

Just Believe

This month I had my yearly check-up and blood work done. I have been very healthy, but my blood showed a thyroid problem. However, I felt great, so I was surprised.

Yesterday I talked to my doctor, who suggested I take medication. I was apprehensive about doing this, but after talking to her, I decided to have a good attitude and believed this would help me.

Our Bible verse says, "Don't be afraid; just believe." Mark 5:36

It's incredible what a believing attitude has done to help me not to be afraid and believe things will work out for my good.
