Stand Strong

There isn't a person on earth who has not been hurt. We all have been hurt but even so, we don't need to let our hurts defeat us. We can stand strong.

We need to be on our guard so our hurts won't blindside us. When we stand firm in our faith we will be courageous and strong. Then we will never let our hurts defeat us.

Being strong doesn't mean you will never be hurt. It means even when we get hurt, you'll never let it defeat you.

Practice

I believe when we show kindness we are also showing mercy. What a great prayer to pray that mercy, peace, and love be multiplied.

Courage Is Contagious

It's encouraging to see brave people take a stand. Many people have a wishbone but they don't have a backbone. A courageous person can inspire others to also stand up.

Our Bible verse says, "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 ESV

This Bible verse encourages us to be strong and courageous. We can decide not to live in fear or dread because we know the LORD our God goes with us and He will never leave.

It's easy to get caught up in the events of the day. We don't understand why or what is going on. To maintain our peace in the mists of the storms in life we need to keep our trust in the Lord.

When we put our trust in the Lord we know that He is working everything out for our good. (see Romans 8:28) We can't always depend on our own understanding.

I wonder how many people actually know that they can talk to God about anything that concerns them? There may be things that you don't feel comfortable telling anyone about. You can talk to God because He cares for you.

We can give God all of our worries and cares because He cares for us!

Freedom

We have many freedoms in the United States because of the sacrifices men and women have made. We should never forget this.

We also have another kind of freedom paid for by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He died so that we can have freedom from the fear of death. It's wonderful to know that we can live a life of freedom right here on earth until we go to our eternal home.

Let's not forget about the freedoms we have because of the sacrifices our service people have made. But let's also remember about the freedom we have because of our relationship with Jesus.

Many people have asked me where I am from. I've lived in a few states so I've picked up accents from each state. To be honest I never thought of staying, "I'm from heaven. I'm just traveling through"

These verses make it very clear that we are citizens of heaven. One day we will leave our home in the body and we will at home in heaven with the Lord.

Courage And Strength

There you have it. Let us do good to all people. Yes, we can do good for people who think like us, but this says to do good to all people.

Blessing In Disguise

If you would have told me losing well over 1000 pictures on my phone was going to be a blessing in disguise I would have laughed.

When I noticed I had deleted over 1000 pictures instead of the one I thought I had I felt half sick. I told myself to stay calm but I was actually shaking.

Right at that time, my friend, Evy sent me a text. I was happy to hear from her. I told Evy I had just lost over 1000 pictures on my phone and I had been frantically trying to find a recover button but to no avail.

Evy asked what kind of phone I had. In a matter of minutes, she found a site that explained exactly what I should do to recover the pictures. I was very thankful!

This past weekend I have slowly been recovering my lost pictures. Instead of just putting them back on the phone I've been organizing them. I've put some in existing albums and I have even created new albums.

I would have never thought at the time losing these pictures would be a blessing in disguise but it has been. Organizing these pictures was long overdue.

Weather Forecast

Bounce Back

This morning I did something I didn't want or mean to do. I  accidentally deleted over 1000 pictures from my phone. I tried to recover them by myself without success. I sent a text to a friend and she helped me find a way to recover them.

I knew if I got upset it was going to sap my strength. I sure didn't want that! I was so happy I stayed somewhat calm :D and had a friend who is cool and showed me kindness.

Free To Choose

I posted this quote several years ago. I had a friend who clicked like on it. I believe he knew exactly what this meant but he chose to make a wrong choice anyway. Maybe he felt like he had made wrong choices before and he was willing to live with the consequences. However, he chose to make the wrong choice one more time and he ended up dead of a drug overdose.

God promises to guide us. But we are not robots and He gives us the freedom to make our own decisions.

Our Bible verse says, "You are my God; teach me to do Your will. Be good to me, and guide me on a safe path." Psalm 143:10 GNT

We are free to make our own choices. God will teach us to do His will. He will be good to us and guide us along a safe path. However, it's our choice whether to follow along on the safe path.

We are free to choose but we are not free from the consequences of our choices.

You Can Make A Difference

Yesterday our kids were out in their garage and found a baby chipmunk. It was frozen stiff and lifeless, but it still appeared to be alive. Our daughter decided to bring it inside of the house and put it in their old hamster cage. This morning because of her love and care this baby is bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.

If showing love and caring can do so much for a baby chipmunk what can we do to show love to other people who are hurting and appear to be dead?

Yes, we need to be kind and compassionate to one another. It is wonderful to show kindness and compassion to all God's living creatures too.

One Decision Away

It's pretty mind-boggling to think about this quote. I can think back on my life and see how only one decision did change my whole life.

I had to make a decision in my life. Would I continue on not serving the LORD or would I make a choice to follow Him? The day I chose to give my life to the LORD changed my life in a totally different way. And I might add for the better!

Mother's Day Surprise

It was the day before Mother's Day 2013. I was sitting in my usual spot spending alone time with the Lord. I looked up and noticed the little Mother's Day statue Todd had given me many years before. I had it on a shelf along with other memories of days gone by. It was hard to believe it had been 25 years ago that Todd had died in a car accident.

As I sat in my chair lost in my memories I thought, "It would sure be nice to receive something again from Todd on Mother's Day, Lord." I knew it was far fetched to desire something like this, but I wasn't going to tell anyone and I even thought, "This is between You and me Lord."

I got up and went about my daily activities. I was out mowing when the thought came to me again. I smiled wondering if I might be surprised.

Later that night my husband, Bill came in from being gone for a few days. He walked in with a rose. He handed it to me and said it was from Todd! I was overwhelmed! Never in the past 25 years had anyone given me anything and said it was from Todd. I knew the Lord had heard and answered the "desires and secret petitions of my heart."

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart. Psalm 37:4

Filled With Joy

We will have joy when we take our refuge in the LORD. We will be thankful for His protection. As we recognize the many things we have to be thankful for we will be filled with joy.

Tomorrow's Troubles

When we pay attention to what God is doing today we won't get worried and worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. We know that whatever comes God will help us deal with it.

Be Brave Enough To Ask

National Nurses Day

Last year we were in Israel at this time. We were going to the Western Wall and our tour guide suggested that we text our Jewish friends and ask if they wanted us to put a prayer in the wall for them.

We happen to have several Jewish friends so we got busy texting each for their prayer request and writing them out. One particular request was very special. This prayer was asking for a precious baby. I wrote it out and placed it in the wall.

A few months later we were overjoyed to hear that our friends were expecting a baby. However, as exciting as that was our biggest blessing was to find out this precious baby was born exactly one year later on the exact day I wrote out the prayer request.

Not Just Another Day
