Worries Into Prayers

By Kay Heitsch

Prayer must be your lifestyle, not your emergency contact. ~ Lifestyle Quotes ~
Many times, when an emergency happens, people pray. But we can pray before an emergency happens. Prayer can be a lifestyle. We can pray about anything at any time.
Our Bible verse says. Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Philippians 4:6 NLT
That's right! Turn your worries into prayers. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done.
Prayer must be your lifestyle, not your emergency contact.

Write It Down

By Kay Heitsch

Write it down before you forget. ~ Life Quotes ~
Years ago, my friend Dimple told me I should write things that had happened. I thought at the time I would never forget. But I have forgotten many things I wish I could remember now.
A few years passed after Dimple gave me the suggestion, and I found a Bible verse that got my attention and brought back Dimple's words.
This is the verse. Write down for the coming generation what the Lord has done so that people not yet born will praise Him. Psalm 102:18
I did not have any grandchildren at the time. But my friend, Lisa, said maybe writing things down wasn't only for my grandchildren but for others.
I'm happy I started to write what the LORD has done in my life. I have the stories saved, and several have been published over the years. I want my grandchildren and others to know what the LORD has done so they will praise Him.

Live More! Worry Less!

By Kay Heitsch

Worry less. Live more. Empowering Words Quotes ~
If we want to live more, we need to worry less. Our fatigue is often caused not by work but by worry. Worrying is a waste of time. Good and bad things happen in life. I've read worry is the stomach's worst poison. I can attest to that one! Worry pretends to be necessary, but it serves no useful purpose.
Our Bible verse says. Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And who of you, by worrying, is able to add one cubit to his stature? Matthew 6:27
If we can't add a single moment to our life or even a cubit to our height, let's stop all the worry. It's useless.
Pray More! It will help you to worry less and live more.

Change Me

By Kay Heitsch

Lord, change my heart from the inside out. ~ Change Me Quotes ~
Many times, we want others to change or our circumstances to change. We may even be waiting for the world to change.
But we may be the ones who need to change. If we ask God to change us from the inside out, we will be better able to cope with whatever or whoever we are dealing with.
Our Bible verse says. God, create a pure heart in me and renew a right attitude within me. Psalm 51:10 ISV
We can ask God to change our hearts and renew the correct attitude within us.
Lord, change my heart from the inside out.

Rest Not Stress

By Kay Heitsch

God intends for us to rest and not stress. ~ Rest In The Lord Quotes
Sometimes, we spend a lot of time worrying and stressing about things we could turn over to the LORD. God says, Come to Me all you who are weary, in Matthew 11:28. God intends for us to live in rest and not stress.
Our Bible verse says. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Psalm 37:7 NKJ.
We can rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him. When we do, our lives will be much less stressful.
God intends for us to rest and not stress.

Run Your Own Race

By Kay Heitsch

Run your own race and stay in your lane. God has a specific path for you where you will excel. ~ Run Your Own Race Quotes ~
Today is the Crim Race in Flint, Michigan. Runners come from all over to run or walk in this race. People have different abilities. So, each person runs their own race.
Today, I listened to the winner talk after the race. He said something I thought was good. He said, "It doesn't matter where you start. But the race is won in the last 3 miles."
Our Bible verse says. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1
We must run with perseverance, the race that is marked for us. We all have something that God has equipped us to do. Let's make sure we don't give up. As the winner said, "The race is won in the last 3 miles."
Run your own race and stay in your lane. God has a specific path for you where you will excel.

Look For The Good

By Kay Heitsch

Strive to find things to be thankful for and look for the good in who you are. ~ Being Thankful Quotes
What would our days be like if we strive to find things to be thankful for? What if we looked for the good in ourselves? I believe we would have a much happier life.
Our Bible verse says. Give thanks in everything, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 HCSB
We will look for the good if we strive to give thanks in everything. Something may not be good, but God can work His will out of any situation. We can be thankful for that!
Strive to find things to be thankful for and look for the good in who you are.

Even When

By Kay Heitsch

Faith isn't a feeling. Trusting God is a choice even when the road ahead seems uncertain. ~ Dave Willis Quote ~
Trusting God is a choice! We never know what tomorrow will bring. But it's incredible how much less stress we will carry when we put our faith in God and keep a good attitude.
We have been through some tough times over the years. Things have turned out differently than I had planned. It was easy to get into depression, but the following Bible verses kept me sane.
These Bible verses say, Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. Habakkuk 3: 17& 18
I love these verses! They helped me keep the right attitude. Even though nothing was going my way. What I wanted was something other than what was happening. When I felt myself slipping, I would read these two verses. I made a choice to say to myself, I will rejoice and be joyful in my God and my Savior. What a way to live!
Faith isn't a feeling. Trusting God is a choice even when the road ahead seems uncertain.

Today choose to focus on the good things in your life.
Our Bible verse says. Hold tightly to what is good. Romans 12:9 NLT
By focusing on what is good in our lives, we hold tightly to what is good.

Walk With Jesus

By Kay Heitsch

Exercise your faith! Walk with Jesus. ~ Motivational Quotes ~
The best way to exercise our faith is to walk with Jesus. When we do, our faith will grow stronger than our fears. We will find we will step out in faith and be able to do all things through Christ, who will give us His strength. (Philippians 4:13)
Our Bible verse says. Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end. Hebrews 12:2 GNT
If we want strong faith, we must keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. Our faith walk begins and ends with Him.
Exercise your faith! Walk with Jesus.

Look For Blessings

By Kay Heitsch

Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing. ~ Look For Blessings Quotes ~
Every day we have blessings all around us. Those who see beautiful things in humble places are indeed blessed. Some people never seem to see any gifts even though they are surrounded by them.
Our Bible verse says. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessings. Ezekiel 34:26
The LORD sends down showers in each season. Not only rain showers but also showers of blessings. Look for them.
Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing.

Taste & See

By Kay Heitsch

Trust is the fruit of a relationship in which you know you are loved. ~ William P. Young Quotes ~
Living in a personal relationship with God, we know we are loved. When we know we are loved, we will trust God completely. We know He only wants the best for us.
Our Bible verse says. Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him. Psalm 34:8
Once we have tasted and seen that the LORD is good, we are blessed when we put our trust in Him.

It Starts At Home

By Kay Heitsch

Our children will only become responsible if they have responsibility. And like everything else, that starts at home. ~Teach Children Responsibility Quotes ~
This week we had 2 of our grandsons visiting. We did fun things, but we also had them help do choirs around the house. It's essential for children to feel a part of the family, and they do when they help out. Doing chores teaches children that work is a privilege, not a punishment.
Our Bible verse says. Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
If we don't want some entitled brat, we must train our children how we want them to go. When we do, they will be responsible adults.
Our children will only become responsible if they have responsibility. And like everything else, that starts at home.

Pray About Everything

By Kay Heitsch

When you don't know what to do, Pray! ~ Don't Worry, Pray Quotes ~
Yesterday Bill and Eli were flying the new drone. It was a little windy, and the drone took off. All three of us started to hunt for it. I texted our neighbors so they would know why we were looking all over their yard. I began to pray. Then a thought to check the driveway of another neighbor came. Sure enough, there was the drone upside down. We were very thankful to find the drone!
This was a great practical lesson for Eli about prayers. We can pray about everything! Eli heard me saying, "Thank You, Jesus!"
Our lives would be much less stressful if we prayed and did not worry.
Our Bible verse says. Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all he has done. Philippians 4:6 NLT
When you don't know what to do, Pray!

Happiness & Tears

By Kay Heitsch

Life is full of happiness and tears; be strong and have faith. ~ Life on Earth Quotes ~
Once a year, we have 2 of our grandsons visit. We have them come separately because they are total opposites. It's important that they get to do things each of them enjoy.
Since Noah is the oldest, he comes first. Noah has autism, among other things. He talks about his visit all year long. So when it's his turn, he is over the top excited! But when it's his brother's turn, Noah is very emotional, with a lot of sobbing and tears.
Eli is the youngest, but he takes it all in stride. He's very happy to visit. He may shed some tears when he leaves, but that's how life is.
Our Bible verse says. There is a time for everything. A time to weep and a time to laugh. Ecclesiastes 3:1& 4
There is a time for everything. A time to laugh and be happy, and sometimes there will be tears. That's how life is.
Life is full of happiness and tears; be strong and have faith.

Trust God

By Kay Heitsch

Keep Calm and Trust God. ~ Trust God Quotes ~
We never know what the day may hold. But it sure helps to keep calm and trust God. The more you know God, the more you will trust Him. God knows us better than we know ourselves and will do what's best for us. Keep calm.
Our Bible verse says. In you, LORD my God, I put my trust. Psalm 25:1 NIV
When the LORD is our God, we will trust Him.
Keep Calm and Trust God.

Noah's Visit

By Kay Heitsch

Today Noah, our special needs grandson, is coming for a visit. Last year when he came, we took him over to Huckleberry Railroad. Noah was excited to ride the train, but most of all, he decided he would try carnival rides. This was a first!
First, he tried the Merry-Go-Round. He rode on one of the bench seats. I rode with him. This year he said he might try a horse. Next, Noah rode on an old fashion caged Ferris Wheel. Bill rode with him the first time. However, after going around 17 times, Bill felt sick. So Noah said he wanted to try riding it alone. He was a little hesitant, but he did! Now he wants to go back and try it again!
Our Bible verse today says. Be strong and courageous. Don't be fearful or discouraged because the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
When we're going to try something new, we need to be strong and courageous. We don't need to be fearful or discouraged because the LORD our God is with us wherever we go.
Like Noah, we need to step out and try something new, even if we might initially be hesitant.
Please pray for Noah's visit. Thanks!

Good News!

By Kay Heitsch

No matter how hard you try, you can't work your way into heaven. It is by grace, & through faith in Jesus. ~ Good News Quote ~
When I found this out, it was good news! It seemed too good to be true, but the more I studied, I found it true!
Our Bible verse changed my thinking. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8& 9 NIV
Now this is good news! We are saved by our faith in what Jesus has done for us! It has nothing to do with our good works.
People may think they are keeping all the 10 commandments. But Jesus made it clear that no one can or ever has expect Him. But even if you think you can, this won't get you into heaven. Only faith in Jesus will do that.
No matter how hard you try, you can't work your way into heaven. It is by grace, & through faith in Jesus.

It's A Relationship

By Kay Heitsch

It's not a religion...It's a relationship.
If there is anything I have learned, you can give people religion, but you can not give them a personal relationship with God. A person can sit in a pew until their rear is flat, but doing that will not give them a personal relationship with God.
Our Bible verse says. And this is the way to have eternal life—to know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the One You sent to earth. John 17:3 NLT
There it is. You must know God the Father through Jesus Christ to have eternal life in Heaven. And to know someone, you have to have a deep personal relationship with them. Religion can't give you that. Only a personal relationship will do it.
It's not a religion...It's a relationship.
