Peace By Trusting

When we focus on the Lord and put all of our trust in Him, we are promised perfect peace.

Our Bible verse says, "You will keep the mind that is dependent on You in perfect peace, for it is trusting in You." Isaiah 26:3 HCSB

I know this works. When I've been in situations that start to steal my peace, this is what I do. I take my eyes off the problem and say, "I trust the Lord.", my peace returns.

It's so important what we keep thinking about. Unpleasant thoughts may come into our minds, but we don't need to keep meditating on them. Instead, we can replace them with something good.

Our Bible verse says, May my words and my thoughts be acceptable to You, O LORD, my helper, and my Savior! Psalm 19:14

The LORD is our helper and our Savior. Let's pray that our thoughts and words are acceptable to Him.

I Don't Know

Have you ever had the thought, "Well, what are you going to do?" It's freeing to be able to say, "I don't know! But I know God has a plan."

God has a plan for all of our lives. His plan is for our good. So trust God when you don't know what to do, and you don't understand.

This verse encourages us to rejoice and be glad each day. It's our decision, is it going to be today or one day.

Kindness & Compassion

I guess I had never thought about kindness and compassion leading to forgiveness before. If we thought about others with kindness and understanding, it would be easy to forgive.

Our Bible verse says, "Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you." Ephesians 4:32 NASB

This verse tells us to be kind, compassionate and forgiving to each other. If we actually thought about all God in Christ has forgiven us for, we would quickly forgive. So let's face it, you and I will never have to forgive anyone more than God in Christ have forgiven us.

Thankful People

When we stop and think of the things we have to be thankful for, it sure will make a difference in our attitude. I've heard, and I believe it's true, "Thankful people are happy people."

When we think of all the LORD has done for us, we should be thankful. The LORD is good, and His lovingkindness endures forever.

Anxious For Nothing

If we are prayerful and we do it with thanksgiving, this can help us to not be anxious about anything.

Our Bible verse says, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Phil. 4:6 BSB

This Bible verse tells us to pray and tell God what we need. It also says to do it with thanksgiving. When we do this, it is a way to be anxious for nothing.

The way to be anxious about nothing is to pray with thanksgiving about everything.

No one can give you a personal relationship with God. This is a relationship you have to develop on your own. But, once you do, you'll find out just how good God is.

Yes, we need to find out for ourselves how good the LORD is. Then, we will be blessed as we put our trust in Him.

When I read this quote today, it got my attention. Do I enjoy each moment of my life, or am I always thinking about the next thing?

Today's Bible verse is one of my favorites. "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." John 10:10

Are we allowing the thief to steal, kill, and destroy our lives? Or are we living the abundant life that Jesus died to give us each moment?

New Way Of Living

I used to wear a tiny mustard seed necklace. I wore it to remind myself to keep my faith in Jesus. The more I focused on my faith in Jesus, my life increased with confidence, joy, happiness, hope, and love. My faith in Jesus changed my life.

Our Bible verses say, "Only Jesus has the power to save! His name is the only one in all the world that can save anyone." Acts 4:12 CEV "Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6 NIV

Once I accepted what Jesus did for me, I found a new way of living and freedom. I received His free gift, and through Jesus, I can pray directly to God the Father. I am right with God because of what Jesus has done for me. What a fantastic way to live!

Team Up With Jesus

Two are better than one, especially if the other one is the LORD. When He is our teammate, and we will always have a good return on our labor.

Why Worry?

If all of our worryings can't add a single moment to our life or increase our height, why worry?

Worry is a waste of time. It doesn't change anything. All it does is steal your joy and keep you busy doing nothing.

Healing Balm of Love

When your child dies, you live with a broken heart. It doesn't matter how many years go by; there is always a missing part of you. There are days you smile when you think about your child, but there are also days a tear will roll down your cheek out of nowhere. You may be going along, and all of a sudden, you have an overwhelming lonely feeling you can't explain.

When your child's birthday or the day they died comes along, your broken heart is more evident. Your feelings are right on edge. Holidays or family get-togethers can be the same way. It's at those times that the sense that something isn't right is staring you in the face.

I usually don't talk about these things, but for some reason, today, I thought I should. I know many parents who feel this same thing.

On these hard days, I have noticed God sends people who show His love in their kind words, actions, and even a tender hug when I need it. I call this a healing balm of love.

I've been blessed to have this balm of love pour into my broken heart at different times in my life, and I am thankful for it.

Does a broken heart ever heal? I don't know that it does, but I know that God will send a healing balm of love to help ease the pain through kind and loving people.

Strength To Meet Life's Difficulties

It was in my darkest time that I found this to be true. Our son Todd had died, and I needed answers to some questions. So I bought a Bible and began my search for light.

How true this was for me. The LORD did give me light! Studying His word dispelled my darkness and gave me the answers I needed.

The word of God is our glorious light for any dark situation.

I totally believe this. I found this to be true in my life. It was God's love that drew me to Him. Interesting, it was people who, without knowing it, allowed God to love me through them.

God draws us to Him by His love and kindness. We are loved with God's everlasting love.
