It's amazing what happens to us when we bless someone else when going through a storm. Instead of focusing on our problems, showing kindness to others helps us to feel better.

Our Bible verse is a blessing we can give. "The LORD make His face shine upon you [with favor], And be gracious to you [surrounding you with lovingkindness];" Numbers 6:25 AMP

What a tremendous blessing to ask the LORD to give someone else His favor and surround them with lovingkindness. Doing this not only is a blessing to others, but it is also a blessing to us.

Joy Returns

Renewed Hope and Cheer

When we are going through tough times, we may feel worn down and weak. But we find we are stronger than we think, and our hope returns when we put our trust in God.

It's great when the cares of life are many, we can go to the LORD, and He will comfort us with renewed hope and cheer.

In Season Fruit

We all enjoy fruit when it is in season. Since love is a fruit of the Spirit, we can enjoy it at all times. We can experience it and also give it away.

Our Bible verse says, "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control." Galatians 5:23

What an extraordinary life we would have if we lived each day walking in the fruit of the Spirit.

Never Regret

Wouldn't it be great to have no regrets? It's a learning process, and we learn and grow by staying connected to the LORD.

Our Bible verse says, "God arms me with strength. His perfect way sets me free." 2 Samuel 22:33 GWT.

God will give us the strength we need to do things His way. Then, when we do things God's way, we will find what true freedom is.

You'll never regret doing things God's way.

Today I Choose

Do I really believe that you can choose to be happy? Yes, I most certainly do. For example, I found the following Bible verse right after Todd died in a car accident. When I read it, I knew, with the LORD's help, I could choose to be happy.

Today's Bible verse says, This is the day which the LORD has made; let's rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 NASB

When I read this verse, I knew I had a choice. I could choose to dwell on the fact that my child was dead and be miserable, or I could choose to find something to be thankful for and be happy.

Happiness is a choice, not a result. Nothing will make you happy unless you choose to be happy. The choice is yours!

Free Gift

Isn't it interesting how people have a problem receiving a free gift? When someone gives them a gift right away, they start to think about what they will need to do to repay them.

Our Bible verse says, "God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Ephesians 2:8 NLT

Accepting the free gift of eternal life through our belief in what Jesus did for us is something people struggle with.

Years ago, I taught a lesson in VBS. The theme that year was 'Team Up With Jesus'. I told the kids when we get to heaven, and we've accepted what Jesus did for us, Jesus will step forward and say, "Father, Kay is on my team!" I can sit on the bench, or I can live the abundant life Jesus died to give me. But my eternal life is a free gift. All my good behavior can't add to it.

Even In Your Darkest Hour

It may be a surprise to some people that God loves you even when you don't love Him.

I found this to be true years ago. I've stated before that I have not always been a Christian. I lived most of my life, never even thinking about the LORD. As a result, I had little or no use for people who claimed to be Christian. To make this point, one day a minister came to see me. He asked if I wanted to go to heaven. I replied, "I don't even want to spend one hour a week with you people. Why would I want to spend eternity?"

At a very dark time in my life, I learned about God's love. One night I was in a house where the walls were painted entirely black. I went into the bathroom and saw myself in the mirror. I looked so bad I was scared and screamed!

I'll never forget what happened next. The words of the song, Jesus loves me, this I know came to my mind. I was stunned! I remember thinking, how could Jesus love me in this condition? But I believe 100% He did!

This Bible verse has special meaning to me. "I was found by people who were not looking for Me. I showed Myself to those who were not asking for Me." Romans 10:20

I certainly was not looking for the LORD, but in my darkest hour, He showed Himself to me with love.

Do I believe God loves you even if you don't love Him? Yes, I most certainly do. God loves us even in our darkest hour.

Under His Wings

I was not a Christian when Todd died. However, it never ceases to amaze me the music I chose for his funeral. I didn't really understand the words of the songs at the time, but somehow they brought me comfort.

The songs I chose were Because He Lives I Can Face Tomorrow and Under His Wings. Now many years later, I understand entirely why.

Our Bible verse says, "Protect me as the pupil of Your eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings." Psalm 17:8 HCSB

I learned as I stayed close to the LORD, He was keeping me safe. I also realized I was very special to Him, and He would protect me as He would His very own eyes.

Never forget, God loves you. He cares about everything that concerns you. So stay close to God, and He will take care of you just as He has me.

When Trouble Comes

When trouble comes, the first thing we should do is pray. Too often, we run to the phone instead of running to the throne.

Our Bible verse says, "The LORD is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in Him." Nahum 1:7 NLT

When we have our trust in the LORD, we know He is good. We know we can go directly to Him when trouble comes, and He will give us strength.

When trouble comes, don't run to the phone. Run to the throne.

Guided By Faith

When we are guided by faith, we can see God working when all around us seems dark.

Yes, indeed, when we live our lives guided by faith, it doesn't matter how bad things look. We see light with our hearts.

Faith is seeing light with your heart when all your eyes see is darkness.

Take The Pressure Off

The LORD will work out His plans for our lives. His faithful love endures forever.

Those who leave everything in God's hand will eventually see God's hand in everything.

It is comforting to know that we are still loved, and God is with us when we are going through tough times. God tells us that He will be with us until the very end of time.

Remember that God is always with us, and He will be, to the end of the age. We are never alone.

You are loved by the One who knows you best. Remember, God will never leave you. He will be with you until the end of time.

God's Grace

When we put all of our faith and trust in God for our everyday and eternal life, worry ends. We know we are loved, and by our 100% belief in what Jesus did for us, we have joy and peace.

God will fill us with hope, joy, and peace as we put all of our belief in Jesus. It's not our good works but God's grace.

Worry ends when faith in God begins.

Be Still and Know

In our good times, bad times, and everything in between, it's important to remember to be still and know God is with us. We hustle and bustle around and sometimes forget to just be still and think about who God is.

Let's take time today and just be still and know that God is God. He is always with us and loves us unconditionally.

Be still and know that God is always with you, good times, bad times, and everything in between.

Make Peace a Priority

It's amazing what stress can do to the body. Personally, I believe it's one of the primary reasons people are sick. I know for myself if I get stressed, I feel it in my mind and body. Unfortunately, in our society, the way we deal with stress is to take a pill. But if we changed our behavior and made peace a priority, I think we would find a better result.

Our Bible verse says, Peace of mind makes the body healthy, but jealousy is like cancer. Proverbs 14:30 GNT

Peace of mind does help to make the body healthy. But, unfortunately, jealousy, among other negative behaviors, tends to eat at us, just like cancer.

Health does not always come from medicine. Most of the time, it comes from peace of mind, peace in the heart, and peace of soul.

Life Is Short

Something happens to your thinking when your child dies before you do. Then, suddenly, you see how quickly things change and how short life is. You don't want to waste your time in anger and worry. You understand life is too short to be unhappy.

Unfortunately, I had to learn how short life is the hard way. I took life for granted like it was a rehearsal. I wasted a lot of time in anger and worry. Now I want to live the short time I have left in this life happy.

What Should I Do?

We often wonder what God wants us to do. So I asked God. I was surprised when I found the following verses in the Bible. I found out other people had asked Jesus the same question.

Our Bible verses say, The people asked Jesus. "What does God want us to do?" Jesus answered, "What God wants you to do is to believe in the One He sent." John 6:28 & 29

So what God wants us to do is to believe in Jesus. Wow, that was not what I expected. When I read the answer to my question, the pressure was off. I understood that Jesus had done everything for me. Jesus did it all! Now my job was to believe.

It was interesting how my attitude changed. Now I had a want-to mentality and not a have-to. I didn't need to figure anything out. I was free to be the person God called me to be and keep believing.

God doesn't ask you to figure it out. He only asks you to believe.

New Every Morning

If we want to stay in peace, one good way is to keep doing good and not give in to evil. It's not easy. Our feelings wish to retaliate, but this only builds hatred in our hearts.

Our Bible verse says, Do not be overcome and conquered by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21 AMP

When we think about ways to overcome evil with good, this will help us to stay in peace.

This is one way to stay in peace. Don't let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.
