I'm still learning that when I put my problems in God's hands, I feel peace in my emotions. If I don't feel calm, then I know I still have not cast my care on Him.

Our Bible verse says. When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. Isaiah 43:2

This doesn't say if you go through deep waters. It says when you go through deep waters. We will all experience situations in life that are considered deep waters. That's life! But this text also says God will be with us when we do.

We'll all go through challenging situations in life, so let's learn something good from it and grow.

Take Charge

One of the best things I have learned from reading the Bible and Dr. Peale's books is to take charge of your mind. No one else can do this for us. We need to take control of our own thinking.

Our Bible verse says. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid. John 14:27 NIV

To live in peace, we have to do our part. We have to take control of our thoughts. We need to not let ourselves be troubled or afraid.

Timing

Sometimes it is hard to wait. We pray and expect the answer right away. I can't say it doesn't happen because it does. But most times, we find ourselves waiting.

When we put our trust in the Lord, we can say, My times are in Your hands. God has perfect timing.

I had this prayer by St Francis of Assisi on our refrigerator for years. I find it interesting that it says, Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. It all starts with us asking the Lord to change us.

When we accept God's love for ourselves, then we can love others as He has loved us.

God knows there will be times when we question His voice. The good news is He keeps speaking amid our uncertainty. ~ Hearing God's Voice Quotes ~

God speaks to us in many different ways. Of course, the #1 way is through the Bible, but He also speaks in other ways.

Years ago, I was home alone in the bathroom doing my hair. All of a sudden, I heard a voice calling my name. I stepped out of the bathroom and looked around. No one was there. I felt no fear and thought I must have been mistaken. This happened two more times. I started to question. Is that You, Lord?

Finally, I remembered the story about Samual and said, "Speak, Lord, Your servant is listening."(1 Samuel 3:10).

Immediately, the phone rang. I answered it, and much to my surprise, it was the Peale Center calling, asking if they could get my permission to publish a letter I had written Dr. Peale.

After all of the beautiful things that have happened because of the publication of that letter, I know without a doubt the voice I heard that morning was the Lord's voice.

God knows there will be times when we question His voice. The good news is He keeps speaking amid our uncertainty.

What A Relief

God's thoughts towards us are precious and can't be numbered. He loves us so much that Jesus, God the Son, came and died and rose so we could have a wonderful life here on earth and eternal life with Him in heaven. God thinks we are worth dying for; that's a fact!

Joyful In Hope

We had a big windstorm a few nights ago. You can imagine my shock when I saw what happened to Todd's geranium.

There wasn't much left of it, so I pruned it back. I'm hoping to see new growth in the months ahead.

That's life. We never know when a storm will blow through. But we can be joyful in the hope of seeing new growth.

When we have the Lord in our lives, He will help us to be joyful in hope and patient in our troubles as we stay faithful in prayer.
