Life is better when we are happy. Nothing is much worse than being in a bad mood all day. It's interesting that when we get our minds off of ourselves and think of ways to make another person happy, we are happy too.

Our Bible verse is a favorite of mine. "This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24 NASB

Life is defiantly better when we are happy. So, let's be happy today! When we reach out to help another person it will increase their happiness and ours too.

Our thoughts, words, and choices do have a tremendous impact on our lives. There are many Bible texts telling us that our thoughts actually shape our lives.

Have you ever thought or said, "I'm so sick and tired of this!" Then wondered why you felt sick, tired, and stressed. I have to admit, I have at times.

Today's Bible verse says, "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to You, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer."Psalm 19:14

If we thought about whether our thoughts and words were pleasing to the LORD, I believe we would have a more peaceful and wonderful life.

Free Gift!

I'll never forget the night I found this out! I was in bed holding a Good News Bible I had just purchased. I held the Bible and said a short prayer, "Please God teach me what I need to know." I opened the Bible and started to read.

Today's Bible verse is one I came across that shocked me. It says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV

Wow, this was good news! I jumped out of bed and ran and told my husband what I had found. I remember saying, "Eternal life is a free gift! It isn't something we work for!

I knew the Bible verse, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16. Even though I had heard this Bible verse I hadn't read Ephesians 2:8-9. Now I could see they fit together!

Free gift! That's great news!

Keep the Faith

God is always working behind the scene. In John 5:17 Jesus said, "My Father is always working, and so am I." We may not see anything happening, but keep your faith strong because God is working.

When we have our hope in the LORD alone, we know that His love is surrounding us. We may not see anything happening but God is always working. Keep the faith!

Astonishing Blessings

When we look back on our lives, we can see that God has loved us all along the way. His guidance was unpredictable at times. We sure were surprised how things worked out. But now we are astonished by His blessings.

Our Bible verse says, "Remind me each morning of your constant love, for I put my trust in you. My prayers go up to you; show me the way I should go." Psalm 143:8 GNT

Sometimes we need to be reminded to look back on our life. When we do, we can see how God's love has been constant. When we trust and ask Him to show us the way, He will.

Maybe Next Time

Don't always say, "There's still time". or "Maybe next time", because there is also a concept of " It's too late." ~ There's a Time Quotes ~

Most of us know when we should do something, but we put it off. It's very easy to do. We think we have time or we'll do it later. But some things we need to do before it's too late.

Our Bible verse says, "For everything, there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1 NLT

There is a time for everything. Can we do things out of season? Maybe we can, but we may miss a great opportunity if we put it off.

Don't always say, "There's still time" or "Maybe next time", because there is also a concept of "It's too late."

Be Firm in Your Faith

In days like these, we better know what we believe if we want to stand firm in our faith. There will be times we may have to stand alone. It's important not to feel you have to follow the crowd. We need to be ourselves.

Keeping alert will take an effort. Knowing what we believe will help us stand firm in our faith. Focusing on God will keep us brave and strong.

Focus on the Giver

It's easy to get distracted by all that is going on in our lives. We focus on world events and our own situations. When we do, it's easy to get upset and negative. However, if we want to enjoy every day as a gift it's best to focus on the Giver who is God.

Yesterday I bought a plaque I posted on FB today. It said, "Thankful & Blessed." When I bought it, I was picking up some medication. I was feeling very thankful and blessed.

Today's Bible verse says, "Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever." Psalm 107:1 NLT

There is nothing better than to give thanks to the Lord for He is good. We can thank Him for small things, big things, and everything in between.

Replace It

Instead of allowing worry thoughts to fill our minds, it's very important to replace those worry thoughts with positive ones. They say 97% of the things we worry about don't even happen.

Our Bible verse says, "Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done." Philippians 4:6 NLT

The Bible is full of verses about not being worried or fearful. There's a good reason for this. We all go through things where we feel worried and fearful. When we do, we can pray to God about everything and remember to thank Him at the same time.

Stop worrying about what could go wrong, and replace it with a positive thought about what can go right.

Brave Strong and Humble

We all go through times where we feel weak and scared. In those times we need to be strong and brave. There are times when we have some victorious moments too. In those times we need to be humble.

What should we do when we feel weak, scared, or discouraged? We should be strong and courageous. For we know that the LORD our God is with us wherever we go.

Good Medicine

Today I was planning to post something about the weather being chilly. However, when I put in "chilly" what came up was "silly". This made me smile.

Keeping a cheerful attitude is good for our health. When we are gloomy and sad it saps our strength.

We need to hold tight and not waver in our hope. We know that God can be trusted. He has given us many promises to help us stay full of faith and hope.

Be Brave

We all experience the feeling of fear. It a part of life. However, even when we do feel fear, we can move forward in spite of it. We can do it afraid!

Our Bible verse is one I have said to myself many times, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7

God does not give us fear, but His Spirit gives us power, love, and a sound mind. Some translations say, "good judgment."

When we have a sound mind, we will use good judgment. At times even when we feel fear, we can still move forward.

Bravery is not the lack of fear but the ability to move forward in spite of fear.

Never Stop Believing

Sometimes you have to stop and look back at what God has done in the past, and remember if He did it then He can do it again.

I often look back at the past when I feel my faith wavering. I do remember the many things God has done for me. I've seen miracles happen.

We need to be alert to be aware when doubt creeps in. When doubt tries to creep in we can ask the Lord to help us to be brave and strong. This way we can be firm in our faith.

Keep Trusting

Those who have read my personal stories have seen how God has worked in my life. He has asked me to do things that didn't make any sense at all. However, after I did them by faith I was greatly blessed.

When we ask the Lord to direct our lives, He may ask us to do things we don't understand. Keep trusting Him anyway.

I have a prayer I say over myself and my family. It goes like this. "Help us to be the people we were created to be and to do the work we were created to do."

I truly believe we are here to do the work God has for us to do. There have been times I wondered what God was thinking when I was doing things that were over my head. I didn't understand, but I had a peace that I couldn't explain.

God does have a plan for each of us. He will give you the peace and the power to be who you were created to be. His plans are for good to give you a future filled with hope.

Life of Inner Peace

When we live a life of inner peace it is the easiest existence. We don't stress about everything that is going on. This kind of inner peace will control the way we think and feel.

It is hard to completely understand the inner peace that God gives to those who live in a relationship with Him. This type of inner peace is the easiest type of existence and will control the way we think and feel.

The life of inner peace, being harmonious and without stress is the easiest type of existence.

Decide

Every day we have to decide to enjoy our own life. We won't if we're comparing it with that of other people. Also, we can't say, "I'll be happy when..." If we do, we'll put off enjoying each day.

If you aren't enjoying your life you need to ask yourself why. Don't let the thief steal, kill, and destroy your life. Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly. Make a conscious effort to live the abundant life that Jesus died to give you.

Don't wait for everything to be perfect before you decided to enjoy your life.

Look for the Good

When we look for the good in an earnest way, we will recognize it. However, it also works in the opposite way. What we look for we will see. So, look for something good even if some days you have to look a little harder.

We need to be careful about what we're looking for. Even if some days we have to look harder for the good it's important that we do that.

Be a good seeker. Search out, look for, and recognize, the good in the world around you.

Hard to Beat

Since today is Labor Day, I thought this was a great quote. People who never give up, no matter how hard the job is, are hard to beat!

Our Bible verse says, "But as for you, be strong and courageous, for your work will be rewarded.” 2 Chronicles 15:7 NLT

I love how this is written personally. "But as for you be strong and courageous." If you've ever been in a situation where you feel you're over your head you need to be strong and courageous, for sure! When we never give up our work is rewarded. We may not see it right away, but when we look back, we can see how it was rewarded.

It's hard to beat a person who never gives up! 

Serenity

We all experience storms in our lives. But serenity comes when we have the presence of God in our storm.

When we are conscious of God in the storm, we can stop allowing our hearts to be troubled and afraid. We know that we can have peace right in the middle of the storm.

Serenity is not freedom from the storm but peace amid the storm.

A Big Difference

Every day we can ask God to create in us a pure heart and renew a right attitude within us. What a big difference a pure heart and right attitude would make in our life.

Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.

Remind Me

We need to thank God for His constant love. Sometimes because of our feelings, we forget how much He loves us.

Our Bible verse says, "Remind me each morning of Your constant love, for I put my trust in You. My prayers go up to You; show me the way I should go." Psalm 143:8 GNT

Every morning we can ask God to remind us of His constant love. When we realize God's great love for us, we'll put our trust in Him. God knows the way we should go. All we need to do is ask.

The great thing to remember is that though our feelings come and go God's love for us does not.

Stand Firm in Faith

We need to be on our guard not to get discouraged. Let's stand firm in our faith. Let's pray to be courageous and strong.
