Today I sat down at the computer at 9:00. I thought back on what happened at 9:00 on Friday so many years ago. It was at 9:00 that Jesus was nailed to the cross. Can you even imagine this?
We were in Israel the week after Easter in 2019. We walked the Via Dolorosa, where Jesus walked on His way to the cross. What must have been going through His mind? This would be the first time He was going to be totally separated from God the Father. Why? Because all of our sins would be put on Him. We know Jesus went through all of this because of His love for us.
I've often wondered why this day is called Good Friday. Today, I was thinking about that again, and the following verse came to my mind. "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them." Romans 8:28
Yes, Jesus' death on the cross did work together for good! Because of His death and resurrection, we can have an abundant life here and eternal life in heaven.
Today let's think about all that Jesus has done for us. He took the punishment we deserved and made it clear that God causes all things to work together for good for those who love Him.
