When we stand before Father God, there is nothing we can claim as a reason we should spend eternity in Heaven except what Jesus has done for us.

If we start to tell God all our good works and church attendance, and so on, I can hear Him say, 'What about my Son?' Wasn't His sacrifice good enough for you? This was His gift to you, free of charge!

Our Bible verse says. For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8&9

I don't know how much plainer this can be. Our salvation is a free gift from God, given to us because of what Jesus has done for us. We can not add anything to it! But we do need to accept His gift.
