Inner peace begins the moment you choose not to allow another person or event to control your emotions.
I chose the following Bible verse because it says we are blessed regardless of outward circumstances when we are makers and maintainers of peace.
Blessed (enjoying enviable happiness, spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they shall be called the sons of God! Matthew 5:9 Amplified Bible
Wow, if we are makers and maintainers of peace we are blessed. Our inner peace begins the moment we choose not to allow another person or event to control our emotions.
