Whatever good we do for others increases our own health and happiness. If we're not happy maybe we need to ask ourselves what are we doing for anyone else.
Our Bible verse says, So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up. Galatians 6:9 NLT
