It was the night before Christmas when the shepherds were out in the fields going about their own business. They didn't know at the time that their story would be told throughout eternity.
"That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks...Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them... The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! For behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people:…Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. Luke 2:8-11
We never know what a day will hold. The shepherds had no idea what was going to happen to them that night. Suddenly, an angel appeared among them. Wow, wouldn't that be a surprise! The angel was there to tell them good news of great joy! Their long-awaited Messiah had been born.
