Getting What You Want

The first step of getting what you want is having the courage to get rid of what you don't want. ~ Get Rid Of Dead Things Quotes ~

Today I was outside getting rid of dead flowers. It can be a pain at times, but I want to have new flowers. I've found if I don't prune off the old it takes longer to for new flowers to grow.

It's like that in life. To get what we really want we need to have the courage to get rid of what we don't. If we want to be more loving we need to prune off things that do no help love to grow. If we want to be happy we need to get rid of self-pity. The list goes on and on.

Our Bible verse today says, "Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit." John 15:2 ESV

The Lord will prune off the things in our lives that do not bear something good. We need to have the courage to let go of the old dead things so we can bear good fruit.
