I've seen people who had what seemed to be everything going for them on the outside. However, they were miserable because they were not happy on the inside. Our happiness is an inside job!
Our Bible verse says, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." Psalm 51:10
When we have a clean heart and a right spirit inside of us our happiness will not depend on what's happening on the outside.
