There's a story about a donkey who had fallen into a hole. The farmer decided to bury him. However, the donkey used each shovel full of dirt to rise up. He shook the dirt off his back and stomped it into the ground. The donkey used the dirt as stepping stones to rise up.
Our Bible verse today says, "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them." Romans 8:28 NLT
Not all things that happen to us are good. But God causes everything to work together for the good. There's no need to carry our mistakes around with us. Like the donkey, shake them off and let God use them as stepping stones to rise above them.
