Not Act Out Of Control

It is a beautiful feeling to rest in the fact that God is in control. No matter what is out of our control, we don't have to act out of control.

Our Bible verse says. Trust the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your understanding. Proverbs 3:5

We are blessed to be able to trust the LORD completely. We do not need to depend on our own understanding.

I can rest in the fact that God is in control. Which means I can face things that are out of my control and not act out of control.

It's easy to get distracted in many different ways. Our time is valuable, and we must make the most of it.

This week, I talked to a friend about being distracted when we try to spend quiet time with the LORD. It's interesting how many things can distract us. We must stay focused and do our best not to allow distractions to get in our way.

Our Bible verse says. Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Proverbs 4:25

This verse tells us to ignore all sideshow distractions; we sure have many of them in life. Now that's a fact!

Stay focused. Don't get distracted.

I'm Just Traveling Through

Because I have moved around quite often, I have found it hard to feel at home. The following verse in the Bible helped me understand why I've never felt entirely at home in any place I have lived.

Our Bible verse says. But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for Him to return as our Savior. Philippians 3:20

This earth is not our home. We are citizens of heaven. One day, Jesus will return and take us all home to live with Him. Oh, happy day!

Feed My Sheep

If we want to know what God wants us to do, it's to love Him and love people. If we got up every day and thought about what we could do for someone else, our days would be much better.

Our Bible verse says. "Do you love me?" So Peter said to him, "Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you." Jesus told him, "Feed my sheep. John 21:17

This verse does not mean feeding sheep. It's talking about taking care of and loving people. If we love Jesus, we will show that we love Him by loving people.

Love means everything to God. God loves you. Pray for strength to love others.

How We Love Others

Seeing how we love others when we accept God's love for ourselves is interesting.

I remember the first time this happened to me. I was in a grocery store and noticed an older man needing help. I doubt I would have noticed him before accepting God's love. But now I did.

I walked over and asked him if he needed help. I found out his wife had recently died, and this was the first time he had shopped for groceries by himself.

Our Bible verse says. We love because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19.

Once we accept God's love for us, we can love others with God's special love.

The Strength You Need

This time of year, along with the holidays, can add stress to our days. However, we can rest assured that God will give us the strength we need to get through any situation.

Christ will give us the strength to do what we need to do.

God will give you the strength you need to get through your situation, so trust Him!

Thoughts

I find it interesting to pay attention to the thoughts that come to my mind. You may not realize it, but not every thought you think is yours.

Our minds are the battlefield, and the enemy can plant negative thoughts in them—sometimes even before we get out of bed when we least expect it. When we're tired and try to go to sleep, it is another time we need to be on guard.

Our Bible verses say. Take captive every thought...2 Corinthians 10:3-6 and "Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts" Proverbs 4:23

To live a successful life, we must be cautious about what we entertain in our thinking.

Hope In The Lord

It's hard to believe you would be 53 years old today. In my mind, you are still 16, and you will be forever young.

Today, I heard a message about God's purpose for our pain. I am so thankful that what the devil meant for evil, God used for good, and He had a purpose for my pain.

Our Bible verse says. And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 NIV

God will bring good out of all things. He has used my pain for a good purpose.

That being said, I miss you and will always love and hold you close to my heart, knowing God is working good out of my pain.

We all know that we have trouble in this world. But because of our relationship with Jesus, we can have peace, hope, faith, and trust.

When The Time Is Right

Last night, I woke up several times thinking, "When the time is right, I will make it happen." I wondered if this was a Bible verse and found out it was.

I've been thinking a lot about this. God's timing is not our timing. We pray and expect God to answer in our time. God always answers when the time is right, but sometimes, our prayers may not be answered until we reach heaven.

Our Bible verse says. At the right time, I, the LORD, will make it happen. Isaiah 60:22

God has the right time for everything. When the right time comes, He will make it happen.

God Is Already There

What a way to live! We do not need to be afraid or discouraged when we know that the LORD goes before us and is always with us.

It's interesting how often we run to God when we have problems. When people feel desperate and helpless, they frequently turn to God. But what happens when life is good? It's so important to always pray and remember God when life is good.

This verse is in the Bible because we need to be reminded that we need God all the time. We must not forget the Lord our God when we go through bad and good times.

What are you looking for? If you look for the good in others and yourself, you will find it. But if you look for the negative, you'll find that, too. Be careful what you look for.

God has blessings prepared for us that we can't even imagine. We can't even wrap our minds around all God has for us.
