When I think back on the many jobs I had, I found that when I kept the mindset that I was working for the Lord and not people, I didn't feel taken advantage of.

If people appreciated things I did, that was great, but if no one did, somehow I didn't care. I knew that everything I did mattered to the Lord.

It's amazing how our mindset and attitude change when we see whatever we do as working for the Lord and not people.

What To Do

I believe many times we pray and expect God to do everything. However, most of the time when we pray, God shows us what to do. There are things we can easily do, but we don't want to. We want God to do it for us.

God will instruct us and teach us what we should do. He won't do everything for us. God always keeps His loving eye on us.

God will show you what to do next. Just keep praying.

Be A Blessing

Many years ago, I went over and above to help a family. One day, the mother asked what I was expecting in return. I responded that I wasn't expecting anything.

I can still remember the blessing I felt being able to respond in this way. I found that being a blessing can actually be our purpose and make our life and others' worth living.

Our Bible verse says. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them. John 13:17

Jesus taught us to be a blessing to others. When we are, we will be blessed.

When It's Possible

To do that, sometimes we may need to change the channel on the TV and be careful what we look at on the internet.

Other times, there are people in our lives we may need to peacefully confront who are always causing drama. If there's a misunderstanding, it needs to be settled.

When it's possible, we need to do our part to live in peace.

Once we realize that God will fight our battles and that His strength is greater than our weakness, we have a sense of freedom. What people say or do doesn't bother us so much. We let God fight for us.

It's not so easy to be silent when someone comes against us. We want to lash out, but if we want the LORD to fight for us, we need to be silent.
