26 ~ Picnic Experience

 By Kay Heitsch

We didn't stay in the South very long, and Bill was transferred again. Each transfer was a promotion, so this made moving somewhat easier.
Todd and I were used to being alone. Bill worked long hours, and then these transfers left us totally alone, until we found another place to live. I never dreamed I would ever be without my Todd.
One day, I thought it would be fun for Todd and me to take a picnic lunch and eat out in a field behind our house. We ducked under a fence, and I found a nice spot under a tree. We put our blanket down, opened up our brown paper bags, and got our lunch out.
As we started to eat our lunch, I looked up and saw a huge bull running towards us. I can't tell you how fast I grabbed our stuff up, and Todd and I went running for the fence! We made it back under the fence before the bull got to us.
This picnic lunch sounded like a good idea at the time, but I should have checked this field before we ducked under the fence the first time.
This is yet another reason why I praise the Lord. Todd and I sure could have been in big trouble if we hadn't gotten under the fence before the bull got there.
"Write down for the coming generation what the Lord has done, so that people not yet born will praise Him." Psalm 102:18
