Take The Positive Out Of It

Life is not fair at times. Bad things happen to good people. But we know God did not make bad things happen to us. God is so amazing that He can make something good happen out of bad.

Our Bible verse has helped me many times. "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them." Romans 8:28 NLT

When we know that God causes everything to work together for good, we can take the positive out of any bad situation.

God didn't make bad things happen to you, but God is so amazing that He can make good things out of bad.

Never Lose Hope

This has been true for me. Once I truly believed and started to walk by faith, I've never lost hope.

I've learned that faith doesn't mean God will stop my troubles, but I trust Him to give me the strength to go through whatever life brings.

Our Bible verse says, I will walk by faith even when I can not see. 2 Corinthians 5:7

We do not know what the future holds. We don't see everything. But when we walk by faith in the One who does know, we will never lose hope. I know that God will bring good out of any situation. I will walk by faith!

Sow With Tears

It's hard to believe anything good can come from our tragedies. But sometimes, our biggest blessing can come from our worst situations.

This has been true in my life after Todd died. I couldn't see how anything good could come out of this horrible situation. But I sincerely wanted it to. I wanted people to remember Todd positively.

Our Bible verse says, "Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy." Psalm 126:5 NIV

It was hard to move forward at times. Sometimes I wanted to sit in the dark in the closet and cry, but I knew this would not bring Todd back. But, on the other hand, I sincerely wanted something good to come out of Todd's death, so I had to sow with tears.

With God's help, I have been blessed to see many blessings from my worst situation.

Sometimes your biggest blessings come from your worst situations.

Always Ready To Help

When we have our faith and trust in God, we know He is always there to help us handle whatever we go through.

Today's Bible verse says, "God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble." Psalm 46:1 NLT

God is always ready to help us handle whatever life throws at us. He will give us His strength. We can always find refuge in Him.

God doesn't give us what we can handle; he helps us handle what we are given.

What If?

What if you knew today would be your last day on earth? What do you think you would do with the day?

I've thought about this at different times in my life.

I remember how clearly I could see life after Todd died. As tragic as his death was, it opened my eyes to what was important in life for a brief time. After that, I don't know why or how it faded, but complacency again came in.

Once again today, I was reminded how quickly life can change. We don't know what this day or tomorrow will bring.

As a friend shared with me today, she plans to hug her family more. I think that's an excellent way to start.

What if this was your last day? What would you do?

Peace Through The Storm

This morning I had a message from a friend sharing with me the tragic death of a 16-year-old girl involved in a car accident. Now, this is a significant storm in life! However, the person writing the note said they felt peace and calm as they felt the prayers pouring in and holding them up.

Our Bible verse says, Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid. John 14:27

We all go through storms in life. Some are not as significant as your child dying, but they are storms non the less. God will give us peace in our storms. This peace is different. This peace comes, as it did to these people, with a sense of peace and calm right in the middle of the storm.

God will give you peace to help you through the storm.

Help us never forget that America is blessed because of God's blessings. So let's do our part to keep GOD first in this country.
