Ladies Beware!

We made several stops on our road trip at different rest areas. Most were clean and I felt comfortable, except for one. I want to share this experience.
We pulled into this small rest area. Bill wanted to look on his app for a room since we planned on stopping in the next hour. I never missed an opportunity to go to the bathroom so I got out of the car.
As I was walking up to the bathroom I noticed a man standing next to a pickup truck. For some odd reason, I started to feel very uncomfortable. You have to know me. I seldom feel uncomfortable around men. In fact, I used to hitchhike alone so I do not scare easily.
When I came out this man started to walk slowly towards me. As he walked he said, "Hi." I responded saying, "Hi" but kept walking quickly to the car.
When I got in the car Bill said, "You know that man was waiting for you to come out of the bathroom." Bill went on to say, "As I was booking the room he kept nervously looking over at me and also keeping an eye on the bathroom door." We both knew he was up to no good! As soon as I got into the car this guy jumped into the passenger's side and they took off.
I did not have my purse or any jewelry on so I knew he wasn't interested in stealing anything. I have no doubt if I had been alone or Bill had gone into the bathroom I would not be here typing this warning.
Ladies, these creeps are out there and they do not care if you are young. Pretty obvious I am not.
Please share this warning!

Go West

Bill and I have been on a road trip. We made no reservations we just took off to see the west. We started off in Michigan and went to Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska. We traveled around 4,800 miles.
We went to Vail and checked out the town. We almost stayed at a Bed and Breakfast there. However, after meeting the homeowner we changed our minds. He wanted us to remove our shoes and put on some used crocs. The atmosphere was interesting. I was expecting the hash pipe and incense to be brought out next.
The saw the Rocky Mountains, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Crazy Horse, Mt Rushmore, Black Hills, Bad Lands, St Lewis Arch, University of Nebraska, the town of Hays, Sturgis and Joyce Meyer headquarters. We even went past Kaysville. I think we should have found a room there, but we didn't.
All in all, it was a great trip! We saw the sights and had no trouble finding a place to spend the night.
Thank you to those who knew we were leaving for your prayers. Read "Ladies Beware" and you'll see your prayers were answered.

Remain Calm

One of the greatest lessons you can learn in life is to master how to remain calm. Life Quotes
Well, I have a ways to go to actually "master" staying calm in all situations. I know it would be one of the greatest lessons I could learn.
Our Bible verse says, "Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you."1 Peter 5:7 "...Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid." John 14:1
By giving all our worries and cares to God and doing our part to not let our hearts be trouble I believe this is a great start to mastering how to remain calm.

Getting You Closer

Ask yourself if what you are doing today is getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow. ~ Life Quotes ~
This is a great question to ask ourselves. This question all depends on how you look at it. If you think of it as a health question you'll see it one way. A job question another. A spiritual question yet another. I think we all may need to make a few changes to get us closer to where we want to be. I know I do anyway.
Our Bible verse says, "The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Deuteronomy 31:8
We don't need to be afraid or even discouraged when we do what is necessary to make some changes in our lives. The LORD will be with us and help us along the way.

Make It Happen

You can make excuses or you can make it happen. ~ Motivational Quotes ~
I needed to tear out the flowers and put our fall things out. I thought of plenty of excuses why I didn't want to do this. However, I dropped the excuses and made it happen.
Our Bible verse says, "But they all alike began to make excuses..." Luke 14:18
We all can find many excuses to not do things that need to be done. Or we can stop the excuses and make it happen.
You can make excuses or you can make it happen.

Learning

There are some things you learn best in calm. And some in the storm. ~ Inspirational Quotes ~
It is true we can learn a lot when things are calm, but we can also learn a lot when we are in a storm. Not all of our lives stay calm and peaceful. We all encounter storms. We can learn from both.
Our Bible verse says, The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. Psalm 32:8 NLT
No matter if it's a calm period or a stormy time in our lives we know the LORD will guide us along the best pathway. We can learn from each.

Make A Deposit

Each day we make deposits in our memory bank. Memories are timeless treasure of the heart. ~ Enjoy Life & Make Good Memories Quotes ~
What kind of deposit will we make in our memory bank today? Each day is another opportunity to make a timeless treasure.
Our Bible verse says, "But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart." Luke 2:19 NIV
An awesome memory was deposited in Mary's memory bank. She treasured this memory and thought about it often. We can do the same.
