Get Your Hopes Up

We never know what a day will bring. I like to think, "Something good is going to happen today!" Maybe it's an ordinary day, but I usually can think of something good that did happen.

I love this Bible verse. This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 NASB

We can think whatever we want. It's our choice. When we get our hopes up looking for something good to happen I can bet we'll be a lot happier.

Regardless Of The Weather

We all go through difficult things in life. Every day is not always a day filled with sunshine. But I believe we can spread sunshine in other people's lives even when our day is filled with clouds and storms by being kind.

Our Bible verse says, Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 NIV

This verse does not say to be kind only if you're having a sun-filled day. it says to just be kind and compassionate. To me, that means to be kind regardless of the weather.

Kindness is spreading sunshine in other people's lives regardless of the weather.

Patiently Waiting

Yesterday we took a trip up north to spray "Wet & Forget" on the cemetery stones. I watched the YouTube and it appeared to me I could see immediate results. However, when I read the instructions it said it would take 2 to 3 months. What? I like to see immediate results!

Our Bible verse says, "But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience." Romans 8:25

It looks like if you stay hopeful you can wait patiently. I am hopeful to see good results at some point in the future. I'm going to keep this hopeful thought in my mind. I'm feeling more relaxed and patient already. :D

Patience is not the ability to wait, but how you act while you're waiting.

You Have Options

It's great to know that we do have options. Too many times we react out of emotions. We don't even consider there may be a better way to handle something.

Today's Bible verse ...I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life so that you and your children may live. Deuteronomy 30:19

This Bible verse tells us we have options on how we deal with situations in life. It also lets us know that what we choose effects, other people.

You may not be able to control every situation and its outcome, but you can control your attitude and how you deal with it.

Go With The Flow

How much energy does it take to get mad when things aren't going as expected? We can change our level of peace and joy by changing the way we look at things. Make it a game to go with the flow.

Today's Bible verse is "...I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." Philippians 4:12&13

Not everything is going to go our way, but we can learn to be content and go with the flow using the strength Christ gives us.

Stronger Than We Think

How many times have we thought back and marveled at the things we have lived through? We may have been pressed down but we weren't crushed by it. As a matter a fact we became stronger by what we have gone through.

Our Bible verse says, "We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. 2 Corinthians 4:8

We were built by Almighty God to withstand the storms of life. We may be pressed by troubles, but we are not crushed. Thanks be to God who causes us to triumph! 2 Corinthians 2:14

Before It Melts
