After I graduated from the boarding academy, I attended the same religious university that the creepy youth minister attended. However, I never saw him again.
Right after I arrived at the university, I was called into the women's dean's office. I sat down and was informed that this dean knew all about me and would be watching me. I often wonder how she knew all about me. Nevertheless, rumors in this religious group spread like wildfire, so I suppose this is how she thought she knew all about me.
I had developed a hard shell around myself, so this woman's words didn't seem to bother me too much.
I left the dean's office and went about my business. I worked in the university's data processing office as a keypunch operator. I signed up for classes that I enjoyed. I made good grades. I had forgotten about my grades, but my cousin looked up my records and told me years later.
One class I loved was English Composition. I was surprised when the professor asked me to stay after class one day.
Sadly, I was shaking because of my previous interaction with these people. I wasn't expecting anything good.
However, this kind lady sat me down and told me she felt I had a gift for writing. Wow! I sure wasn't expecting this!
Now, I honestly believe this is why God had me at this university! I needed to hear what this kind professor had to say.
"Write down for the coming generation what the Lord has done, so that people not yet born will praise Him." Psalm 102:18
