National Nurses Day

Today, President Donald Trump will sign the official proclamation of National Nurses Day, which marks the beginning of National Nurses Week. The week culminates on the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

As thankful as we are to our nurses we all can show kindness and reach out to help others. No one is useless in the world who lightens the burdens of others.

Our Bible verse says, "Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too." Philippians 2:4 NLT

When we take an interest in others we show kindness and lighten their loads.

Waiting

We all have to wait. Waiting is a part of life. We'll be doing ourselves a favor if we learn to keep a good attitude while we wait.

Our Bible verse says "When the right time comes, I will make this happen quickly. I am the LORD." Isaiah 60:22

When we put our trust in the LORD we know that when the right time comes He will make things happen. Our job is to keep a good attitude while we wait.

Patience is not about waiting, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.

Optimistic State Of Mind

What is hope? Hope is an optimistic state of mind. Hope is a joyful expectation of a positive outcome in one's life. ~ Confident In Hope Quotes ~

When we stay hopeful it keeps our minds optimistic. We can stay joyful expecting something good to happen at any time.

Our Bible verse says, "Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying." Romans 12:12 NLT

There ya have it. Rejoice in our confident hope. When we are hopeful we can be patient as we keep on praying.

What is hope? Hope is an optimistic state of mind. Hope is a joyful expectation of a positive outcome in one's life.

Last year we were in Israel at this time. We were going to the Western Wall and our tour guide suggested that we text our Jewish friends and ask if they wanted us to put a prayer in the wall for them.

We happen to have several Jewish friends so we got busy texting each for their prayer request and writing them out. One particular request was very special. This prayer was asking for a precious baby. I wrote it out and placed it in the wall.

A few months later we were overjoyed to hear that our friends were expecting a baby. However, as exciting as that was our biggest blessing was to find out this precious baby was born exactly one year later on the exact day I wrote out the prayer request.

Not Just Another Day

It's important to actually look for the blessings in each new day. I think we may miss blessings because we aren't paying attention.

Our Bible verse says, "For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland." Isaiah 43:19 NLT

The LORD is always doing something new. Do you not see it? It's important that we don't miss the blessings by not paying attention.

Today is not just another day. It's a new day. Look for the blessings that this day will bring.

God's Hand

Those who know me well know that I have written many stories about seeing God's hand in my life. Life can be exciting when you leave everything in God's hand.

Our Bible verse today says, "Lord, I put my life in your hands. I trust in you, my God, and I will not be disappointed." Psalm 25:1 ERV

How true this is. When we put everything in the Lord's hand we can trust Him and know we will not be disappointed.

Those who leave everything in God's hand will eventually see God's hand in everything.

Our Choices Make Us

We all make choices every day. We choose what we're going to eat. We choose what thoughts we allow in mill around in our minds. We choose to stay angry or just let it go. Our choices actually do make us. Plus, all of our choices have consequences whether we like to admit it or not.

Today's Bible verse can help us make the right choices. "Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take." Proverbs 3:6 NLT

If we take the time to seek God's will in our life we can know that our choices will be right for us.

Life is a matter of choices, and every choice you make makes you.
