What If?

Now, this is easier said than done. Because we all go through times when things are coming up in our lives that we are apprehensive about. It's easy to fall into the trap of worry. The old "What If?" thought seems to plague our minds.

Our Bible verse says, "Refuse to worry about tomorrow but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself." Matthew 6:34 TPT

We can repeat this Bible verse when the old "What if?" comes to our minds. We can tell ourselves that we will need to refuse to worry, and God will give us whatever we need to deal with each challenge as it comes. We can be assured that tomorrow will take care of itself.

New TV

Yesterday we got a new big screen TV. We had planned where to put it, but it would take both of us to get it there. Bill thought he might ask a neighbor guy to help, but I said I would give it a go.

Since I am only 5'1", I had to lift my side almost over my head to put it where it needed to be. Bill was surprised I was able to do this! I was astonished myself.

You may think I'm overboard, but I prayed the Lord would give me the strength to help. God has given me inner strength in my life, but I never thought of praying for physical strength, but I did, and I got the job done.

Our Bible verse says, Look to the LORD and His strength; seek His face always. 1 Chronicle 16:11

I've asked the LORD to give me His strength in my inner life many times, and He has always come through. This time He gave me the physical strength to help out, to my surprise and to Bill's too.

Give God your weakness, and He will give you His strength.

Just Do It

Years ago, after reading Dr. Peale's books, I tried some of his tips on how to have a successful life. I wasn't a Christian, but I could see these tips were coming from the Bible. You don't need to be a Christian to put Bible principles into practice. I did it.

I've found it interesting that if you look into anything that works in the secular world, you'll find it in the Bible.

As I put these tips into practice, I changed my thinking. The salespeople in the stores I shopped in said I was their favorite customer. Putting these Bible principles into practice was somewhat easy until Todd died. Now I struggled to put any of these things into practice.

But God came to my rescue when I cried out for help. Once I gave my life to Him, I now had His superpower, and I was back in business to live the abundant life Jesus died to give me.

Our Bible verse says, Be doers of the word, and not hearers only. James 1:22 MSB

When we know what the Bible says and put it into practice, we will be equipped for every circumstance in life.

Knowledge is of no value unless you put it into practice.

Be Careful How You Think

It is so important to choose wisely what we think about. Not every thought that comes to our mind should we dwell on. We need to be careful and choose wisely what we think about.

Our lives are shaped by our thoughts. We can't think negative thoughts if we want a positive life. It's just that simple!

When You Don't Understand

There are many things we do not understand. Sometimes we can stress ourselves out trying to understand why things happen. I've done this myself and have paid the consequences.

When I don't understand, I tell myself the LORD does, and I need to trust Him. This attitude helps me relax and not stress myself trying to understand everything.

Stay Focused, Positive & Strong

It's important what we focus on in hard times. To stay strong, we need to focus on what we do know. We know God is always with us, and He loves us. We know He will always bring something good out of whatever we are going through.

In this world, we will have trouble! That is a fact! We all go through things we do not like. But we can take heart because Jesus has overcome the world! He will give us His peace and strength when we focus on Him.
