Your Last Day

What would you do if today was your last day on Earth? ~ Inspirational Quotes ~

This is a good question. Jesus knew it was His last day on Earth. So what did He do? When He was gathered with His disciples at His last supper, Jesus showed love and kindness even to those He knew would betray Him.

It was a custom for a servant to wash people's feet when they came into the house. Since no one was there to do this, and obviously none of the disciples wanted to, Jesus did it Himself. Would we be so eager to do this on any day, let alone our last day on Earth?

Our Bible verse says, "I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you." John 13:15 NLT

If we say we want to follow Jesus' example, we should consider what Jesus did on His last day on Earth.

Come As You Are

I had already concluded that I could not, nor did I want to try to change myself the day I gave my life to the Lord. I knew who I was and what I was like. I also understood quite well I was too big of a project to handle alone.

When I think back, it was funny, but I was being honest and for real. I didn't beat around the bush. I was straight up! I told the Lord I wanted to give my life to Him to make something positive out of it! But I also reminded Him, He knew what He was getting when He got me, so have at it! I might add that all this took place in my home, not a church.

I was curious to know what or how I thought this would happen. But I knew I wanted and needed a change in my life, and somehow I understood He was the only one who could do it.

When I think back, I started to have different desires. First, I wanted to know how to have this overcoming, abundant life that Jesus died to give me. Second, I had a lot of questions and looked for the answers in the Bible, which I started to call "God's Instruction Book." This was odd since I hadn't even touched the Bible in years.

I began to see life differently. I was less fearful, worried less, and saw people in ways I didn't see them before. My life was changing, but I wasn't sure how it was happening. I knew it wasn't me, but it had to be the Lord working through me.

If you ever want a change in your life, give yourself to the Lord. Come as you are! Don't try to be something that you aren't. God knows all about us and wants us to have the best life possible by having a personal relationship with us.

He Simply Wants Us

Many times we get caught up in ideas about what God wants. But life becomes sweet when we understand God simply wants us. We come as we are. Once we do, everything else falls into place.

I woke up this morning thinking about this Bible verse. "God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him." John 3:17 NLT

Jesus didn't come to judge. He came to save. Because of what Jesus has done for us, we can have this lasting personal relationship with God for all eternity. It's not about us; it's about what Jesus has done for us! Now we can live in freedom and love once we accept this free gift!

God doesn't want something from us. He simply wants us!

When We Know

We all go through difficult times; that's life. But life becomes sweeter when we look for something positive that will come out of it.

I love today's Bible verse. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28 NLT

When we know God will cause everything to work together for good, we can relax and look for the positive in each situation.

Look for something positive in every day, Even if some days you have to look a little harder.

Be Mindful

I have found that I am the happiest when I get myself off my mind and think about ways to be kind and a blessing to others.

Our Bible verse says, Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone. Galatians 6:10 NLT I like how the AMPC puts Galatians 6:10, Be mindful to be a blessing.

If we want to increase our happiness, we need to be mindful to be a blessing. Look for opportunities today and every day.

Make The Switch

With the power of God within us, we need never fear the forces around us. ~ God Gives Us Power Quotes ~

If we have seen ourselves as weak, it's time to switch. We must see ourselves as powerful because God's power works in us.

I have found that God loves to use the underestimated to show His power through them. What can happen to someone who knows they are a child of God and strong in the Lord is incredible.

Our Bible verse says, "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power." Ephesians 6:10 NIV

That's right, we need to be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. But we must switch from seeing ourselves as weak to seeing ourselves as strong with the Lord's mighty power.

With the power of God within us, we need never fear the forces around us.

Simple And Sweet

Do things for people. Not because of who they are or what they can do for you but because of who you are. Our motives and how we treat people are fundamental and affect our quality of life.

Our Bible verse is short and packs a powerful message. "Let all that you do be done in love." 1 Corinthians 16:14 ESV

I love the Bible! These hidden gems show us how to live an abundant life. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to do it. Let all that you do be done in love. Simple and sweet!
