Most of us can relate to this quote. The very thing that breaks our hearts ends up fixing our vision. I found that to be very true when Todd died.

Our Bible verse says. Sometimes it takes a painful experience to make us change our ways. Proverbs 20:30 GNT

Sadly, sometimes, it takes a painful experience to change our ways. But we know God will use even our painful experiences to fix our vision.

A Thought Can Be Planted

Knowing that we can ask the Holy Spirit to guide us is awesome. When we do, He can plant a thought in our minds to help lead us in the right direction.

Our Bible verse says. When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. John 16:13

When we invite the Holy Spirit into our thoughts, He will guide us into all truth. He will not only show us things in the Bible we didn't understand before but also guide us into God's plan for our lives.

Oh, the places we can go to and the beautiful things we can do! What a way to really live!

Throughout Our Lifetime

We can relax when we know the Lord will take care of us. I've had to remind myself of this; when I do, I feel a peace over me.

I can get caught up in "What's going to happen?" When I do, I remind myself that no matter what happens, the Lord will care for me, just as He always has.

Our Bible verse says. I will be your God throughout your lifetime— until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you. Isaiah 46:4 NLT

It doesn't matter how old we are. God will be with us throughout our lifetime and take care of us until the end.

Relax. The Lord is going to take care of you.

You Can Make A Difference

I posted a video of the Ohio State Football players sharing their testimony on the Ohio State Campus. These guys are making a huge difference by sharing what God has done in their lives, and this is something we can all do.

God does so many beautiful things for all of us. When something happens, it's not good luck. It's God working something good out for us. We need to recognize it for what it is.

Our Bible verse says. The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Psalm 126:3

When we recognize the great things God has done for us, we should share this joy with others.

The Kingdom Life

Peace, Righteousness, Joy ~ The Kingdom Life Quotes ~

Years ago, when I started studying the Bible, I couldn't quite understand how the Kingdom Life was inside me.

Later, I saw that we have His righteousness when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Knowing that our sins are forgiven and we have a right standing with God, we have peace. Living in peace, we have joy. Living in peace, righteousness, and joy is the Kingdom life!

Our Bible verses say. The Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Romans 14:17 For indeed, the Kingdom of God is within you." Luke 17:21 KJV

There we have it! The Kingdom of God is not about stuff! It's an attitude of rightness, peace, and joy because God's Holy Spirit lives in us if indeed He does.

We are God's children, and we have come from God. When we have a personal relationship with Him, He lives in us! God is greater than the problems the devil creates.

When You Feel A Nudge

I have learned that when you feel a nudge from God, you better take action now. Because there was an anointing at that time. When you put it off until later, sometimes later never comes.

I shudder to think what would have happened if I had not taken action when I felt the nudge to write Dr. Peale. What about when I felt the nudge to burying the bird or going to the corn stand? I could go on and on with one story after another.

Taking action at the right time brought about wonderful results.

To live wisely, we must use every chance to do good!

Be Diligent

If we want to live the abundant life Jesus died to give us, we must do certain things to help ourselves. The Bible is full of great advice to help us live this life, but we must practice it.

Our Bible verse says. Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts. Proverbs 4:23 GNT

There we have it. Our lives are shaped by our thinking. This translation says, "Be careful." Others say, "Guard your heart with all diligence." We have a job to do, so we must be careful and diligent about it!

Be careful how you think, what you see, what you say, what you hear, and what you do. Why? Because your life will be shaped by these things.

Peace With God

If you wonder why you should rejoice, read the Bible. It repeatedly says to rejoice always, and again, I say rejoice!

Yesterday, I heard a message about depression and how rejoicing can lift a person's spirits. There is something about rejoicing that heals not only our bodies but also our emotions.

The Scripture tells us to put on "the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness" (Isaiah 61:3).

When you feel heaviness trying to overtake you, let go of self-pity and thank God for what He's already done in your life.

God's will for you is to rejoice always.

Knowledge Is Of Little Value Unless

We may read a lot and have knowledge, but it is of little value if we don't put it into practice. God has given us His Word to show us how to have a tremendous earthly and eternal life. But we must put it into practice to have this life.

We must practice what the Word says so we won't be fooling ourselves. Isn't that interesting?

Knowledge is of little value unless you put it into practice.

Strife can be defined in many ways, but one definition is an angry undercurrent. We have all been around people who may be quiet and smiling, but we can feel an angry undercurrent. We may have been like this ourselves.

To be happy and healthy, we must do our part to eliminate strife. I know what stress and strife have done to my life, and it has not been good.

Our Bible verse says. If possible, as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Romans 12:18

There may be many times, especially with the election, when we need to do our part to live in peace. We need to keep the strife out of our lives for our well-being.

Who Cares?

Let's Go Fancy

When Eli visited us, he surprised me by saying he would like to take us out to eat.

Eli pulled out his McDonald's gift card. It was cute when he said the card was worth $25, so we shouldn't eat more.

I asked if we should get takeout or eat inside, Eli said, "Let's go fancy" and eat inside.

Kids need to learn to give instead of always expecting to take.

I'm so proud of Eli!

Turning Bad Into Good

We live in a fallen world. Bad things happen to even good people. The good news is God will use what has happened that's been bad in our lives and make something good out of them.

A couple examples in my life is #1 Todd's death. God has brought many good things out of that. I've been through several unfair situations, but each one has made me more sympathetic to others when they are dealing with issues in their lives.

We all can think of many things where God has turned bad into something good.

Our Bible verse says. He will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. Isaiah 61:3

Watch and Pray

This quote is an old saying. I remember my folks saying it often. In this day and age, we must keep our eyes open so we don't fall into temptation. It's easy to be led off course and be deceived.

Our Bible verse says. Keep watch and pray so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!" Matthew 26:41 NLT

We must watch and pray that we don't give in to temptation. Our spirit knows what is right, but somehow, our body is weak, and we fall for temptation if we don't watch and pray.

Too Good To Be True

I remember thinking, "This is too good to be true!" as I slowly started comprehending the gospel's truth. I ran downstairs and told my husband, Bill, what I was learning in the Bible.

Our Bible verses say. For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. John 3:16 & 17

We can have eternal life through what Jesus did for us. Our only part is to believe that what He did on the cross was enough! We are saved through Him! This is the truth of the gospel!
